My daughter watched Lilo and Stitch over and over again. I got to the point of wondering what was the movie Stitch was watching on the TV. It had a giant spider in it and a lady whose skirt was caught in a car door. Can anybody tell me name of that movie?
Maybe TARANTULA from the 50's.
It's probably from Earth vs. the Giant Spider, a Bert I. Gordon knock-off of Tarantula. If the scene takes place in a suburban setting, that's it.
The scene takes place in a city street and the movie is in black and white. It may have taken place in San Fransico, but we do not know.
If she's standing there, tugging wanly on her snagged skirt and screaming at the camera--which is taking the spider's POV--then it's definitely the original "Earth Vs. The Spider." (There's a horror-movie "take" on "Spider-Man" that used the same title recently.)
Oddly, the IMDB "Movie Connections" listing (http://us.imdb.com/Mlinks?0275847) references both "EVTS" and "Tarantula." I'll have to rent it. (I finally watched "Ice Age" and it was a blast. Especially given that not EVERYBODY loves Raymond. Or Leguizamo.)
Originally, I thought it was "Tarantula," too, but, I believe the credits at the end of "Lilo and Stitch" identify the film as "Earth versus the Spider." The original and not the remake. Enjoy!
