Am I badly mistaken that there was a movie (1986-88ish) very similar to Robo-Cop. If I'm not mistaken it starred Tawny Kitean (still hot after wicthboard) as a synthesizer composing wife of a Nuclear Engineer who died in an accident at the facility he was working in. He (Peter Weller) was rebuilt as a Robo-Man, and spent the rest of the film tracking down those at the plant that almost killed him. I have looked at the IMDB under both stars and have not found it, and I am positive that it was her, maybe not in this film but in SOME film, as Robo-Man whatever communicates to her "from beyond" through her keyboard. I'd like to see this film again if anyone has any leads.
Speaking of Robo-Men, I stumbled onto ROBO-MAN. A 19070's era Elliot Gould movie about those pesky East Germans turning their double agents into robots that resemble The lion in wiz of Oz no joke. Anyway a fine bad movie with lots of kitsch and Elliot Gould no less. If you can score it somewhere its worth it.
I've got Robo-Man on VHS, and I've been meaning to watch it for some time now...... maybe I should. As for your movie, might it be Mandroid? The cover is of a wheel chair guy being zapped by lightning and a robot guy in the background. It's a long shot.

Tooshea, the movie you're looking for sounds like "The Vindicator." (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0092172) Neither Tawny Kitaen or Peter Weller is in it, but Pam Grier is. Look under "External Reviews;" the one for "Painful Cinema" (hee) mentioned synthesizer-communication, so I'm pretty sure it's the one. (It's been too long, I don't even remember that element--just Pam Grier whacking people.)
Dude, no way. A movie from the 19070's era? Give me the specs to your time machine.

Sounds kinda like THE VINDICATOR. Does the bad guy turn himself into a cyborg at the end to fight the he-robo? If so, that's your movie.
Gee...I never would have guessed that at one time Tawny Kitean looked like Pam Grier
This movie is the Vindicator.
