I've plugged Movie Punks (http://www.moviepunks.com/index.php) once or twice around here, but it's not the only site to combine the latest movies reviews and amateur comic strips.
Theater Hopper (http://www.theaterhopper.com/index.shtml) is a nice little bit about a guy who's so Joe Average he could work on the Satellite of Love. It's somewhat autobiographical, and often involves the author's real-life pulsating romance with his girl Cami--without being pathetically syrupy while still maintaining a healthy dose of Cute n'Sweet. (In one strip, she dresses up like Elektra from "Daredevil," and he winds up hospitalized after hugging her...and her sharp weapons; in another he makes the Ultimate Sacrifice of Love by buying her "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" on DVD. It's all supercartoony on a "South Park" level, but you can tell this guy's really in love just by the way he draws her.)
Of course, the strip isn't about that--it's about good movies, bad movies, the "theater experience," and Milk Duds stuck behind your teeth. Give it a shot, won't you?
Anyone else know of movie-and-comics sites like these?
Well, there's Movie Comics (http://www.movie-comics.com/), which is only sporadically updated and sporadically funny.
Then there's Bob the Angry Flower (http://www.angryflower.com/). The comic doesn't have anything to do with movies, really, but the guy who writes it posts a lot of movie reviews on his site.
