Title: Great comic book game
Post by: Gecko brothers on March 04, 2003, 12:49:07 AM
I got the game Freedom Force from Fry's Electronics. It was the best game for superheroes wannabes. It is a RPG/RTS game. You start out with one hero then to four from a team of 13. The best part is downloading skins and creating some of your favorite comicbook heroes. The whole game is set in the Silver Age of comics. So those who want a Punisher/Spawn comic violence look elsewhere. There are lots of mods also in which you can continue the JLA/Avenger story or have a famous Marvel or DC hero. You can even get Buffy! Of course all of this you have to download and own the origional game, which goes from $10-$20. There is some problems like multiplayer is only on Gamespy in which you have to pay a fee. It is hard to keep tract of your heroes at time. You can only control four at a time sucks. To top it up the saved games aren't in order. Still this one of the best RPG ames I've played. The fact that you can edit your own hero and that everything is like the old comics makes it worth it.

I have seen this in stores many times. I was afraid to buy it because I didn't know what to expect. Maybe I'll pick it up this weekend.
