Title: And speaking of MITCHELL . . .
Post by: The Burgomaster on March 14, 2003, 04:44:14 PM
Where the HELL is the remake? I mean, there was a remake of SHAFT, so where the HELL is the "equal opportunity" remake of MITCHELL?

Joe Don Baker could have a cameo role (possibly even naked).

But who could star as Mitchell? Who could possibly follow in Joe Don's footsteps? I mean, I like Samuel L. Jackson, but no one will ever replace Richard Roundtree as Shaft in my heart. Could another actor possibly succeed as Mitchell?

I think Tom Berenger might be able to pull it off . . .

The Rock is going to be in a remake of "Walking Tall," but he's just not slobby enough to be Mitchell.

If John Goodman shaved, and lost a little weight (but kept the fat), he'd make a convincing Mitchell. But unfortunately, his voice isn't near enough the thick accent Joe Don Baker carries in that movie. He'd have to spend 4 years locked inside Texas to begin to match that.
