Title: Who Is The Actor In The IBM TV Ads?
Post by: Ash on March 15, 2003, 08:52:46 AM
I'm sure most of you've seen these ads for IBM on TV recently.

It has the CEO of a corporation sitting at the end of a long table surrounded by his underlings and in each commercial (there are 4 or 5 of them I think) they introduce some new made up thing to him to help improve business.

Such as:
Magic pixie dust.

Business binoculars.

Or even the Magic Business Genie.  In that ad the CEO tells the other guy to rub the lamp and when he does, a cell phone of another employee at the table rings.  He says, "It's the genie."  and hands the phone to the CEO.

My question is this:  Who is that actor that plays the CEO??

I swear I've seen him in other movies and TV shows but I can't remember his name.

Anyone??

Wait....I think I figured it out......

I'm pretty sure it's Marshall Bell.

Go here to see his pic:

He played Quato in Total Recall.
Remember?  He had that mutant on his stomach.

He also played the general in Starship Troopers that burst out of a storage locker scared s**tless and the seargent slapped him.

He also played Gordie Lachance's dad in Stand By Me.

Do you guys think that's him in those IBM commercials?

I've seen;

Pixie dust
Business binoculars
Universal business adaptor (UBA)
Magic business genie
Business reality detector

The last is my favorite; "Phil, what do you think?", (looking panicked) "I don't think, I'm just a yes man", machine chirps, "It works!"
