Monster Zero (http://clubtokyo.org/monsterzero/editorials/editorials.php?catID=Nws&subCatID=15&contentID=233) announced that Hideyo Amamoto (AKA Eisei Amamoto) has passed away.
He was Doctor Who in "King Kong Escapes." Even without his voice dubbed over by Paul Frees, he scared the hell out of me as a child.
I had no idea of all the roles (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Amamoto,%20Eisei) he played--including the mysterious prophet in "Godzilla-Mothra-King Ghidorah: Daikaiju Soukougeki," his final role.
He was also, incredibly, Mother Dark from "Message In Space"--a drag role!
Other appearances include "Godzilla's Revenge" (as the elderly neighbor), "Kamen Rider (as "Dr. Deathgod!"), and "Mighty Jack."
Farewell.
Rest in peace buddy. You'll be missed.
And he was assumed by the angel Torgo into B-movie heaven. A fine actor whose kaiju work will be remembered for a long time to come.
