I was curious.....
Have any of you met a movie celebrity and did you get and still have their autograph(s)?
Or how about music stars?
I've only met the members of the band "Autograph" and I got the "Econoline Crush" guitar player's signature.
I saw them open for Kiss.
No movie stars for me though.
We don't get too many of them here in Iowa.

I have a book of song lyrics signed by Lou Reed. I have an early book of her poetry signed by Patti Smith. I have Bob Weir's autograph on a children's book he helped design. My wife has Mick Fleetwood's autograph. I have a signed copy of Christy Canyon's autobiography. And I have Kevin Murphy's autograph on a very battered copy of the the MST Amazing Colossal Episode Guide.
Odd collection, huh?
I met Dennis Farina, Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince..., and The gay guy from NYPD Blue, they came to Bosnia as part of a USO thing. It was cool to meet Dennis Farina, I've been a fan since Crime Story, he's a big bastard too.
I got his autograph when he came to town on his book signing tour! He's as cool in real life as he is in his movies!
I have some autographs from old western stars: IronEyes Cody, Monte Hale, Yakima Kanut (stunt man), Lash LaRue, Pat Butram, Pat O'Brien, Etc. Of cousre, I was about 10 years old when I ghot them. It was at a Nostalgic Film Festival
I have a signed Crispin Glover book, but it was something I purchased, I didn't actually meet him. I also have a John Waters book, same deal.....
I have a growing collection of signed CD's and stuff. I have Prong's Cleansing record signed by Tommy Victor and their new guitarist Monty.
I have a Crunchy CD (Monty Colvin's band post-Galactic Cowboys) signed by the entire original band before the drummer change and then the split up.
The Terria record signed by Devin Townsend as well as a Strapping Young Lad shirt signed by Devin and drummer Gene Hoglan.
Wayne Kramer (ex-MC5) signed my copy of his newest record Adult World.
Tanglefoot's Agnes on the Cowcatcher signed by the whole band.
Mother Superior signed a poster at one of their shows.
Tonight I hope to score Dog Fashion Disco's signatures at a concert, and Thursday I'm going to see Cephalic Carnage in Minneapolis.

I have soooo many signed things, books, letters, records, etc. from individual members of The Firesign Theatre. I guess I have more of Phil Proctor than anyone else, but David Ossman is a close second. These guys do cartoon voicework -- Rugrats, A Bug's Life, etc. -- as well as the Firesign stuff. Phil was in Rocky & Bullwinkle as DeNiro's sidekick, and was the drunk monkey voice in Eddie Murphy's Doctor Dolittle. David produced the 50th anniversary of the War of the Worlds broadcast, Empire of the Air, and the 100th anniversary PRI radio show of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. All of the guys in the troupe have more screen, radio, and record credits than I can possibly remember. It has been an honor to meet and work with them.
Signed letter in a frame from Dan Coffey (Dr. Science/Duck's Breath Mystery Theatre).
I have photos of me with John Goodman, Rene Auberjonois (Odo), Michelle Trachtenberg(from Buffy), Jack Carter, Burt Ward, and a slew of other folk I've worked with, but never thought to get them to sign anything!!
I have a framed letter (exquisite penmanship!), entirely handwritten, and handwritten envelope, with autographed photo, from Molly Sugden (Mrs. Slocumbe/Are You Being Served?).
I have a signed record jacket from George Duke -- She Heard the Blues(Zappa alum & jazz pianist.).
Signed picture disk from Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper!!!
Signed CD sleeve from The Grandmothers (Jimmy Carl Black and other Zappa alumni).
Copy of James Joyce's Ulysses signed with a dedication to me by Zero Mostel (I worked with him in Massachusetts in 1975 -- he was big on doing a revival of "Ulysses in Nighttown" but died before it happened.).
Signed program of a 1973 Virginia (I was in it too, as Yakov) production of Chekov's "The Seagull" by a cast of unknowns, including the then "Glennie C. Wade" -- later to be know as Glenn Close.

My wife has a copy of Andy Warhol's "Popism", signed & with a drawing of a banana by him on the inside cover, as she complained to him when she met him that her sister had swiped her copy of "The Velvet Underground" with the banana on the cover. We have never had this appraised, though I'm sure we should.
* * * * * *
Copy of "Jitterbug Perfume" signed by Tom Robbins
Copy of "Shatterday" signed by Harlan Ellison
Signed boot(!) live concert music cassette by Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown
Several books signed with dedications by Kevin Coyne, who isn't very well-known in this country, but gave Andy Summers & Zoot Money their starts -- much more popular in Germany & Austria. Look for an old British band called "Siren", as well as Kevin's solo discs, almost all out-of-print now.
Any number of books/letters from Dave Barry, who apparently will write to anyone!

Cushing's I got off ebay. It's a picture of him from "Star Wars". I sent a photo to Lee in England and he sent it back like a year later and it had his signature. :)
Musukogoji
Ones I met:
John Flansburgh of They Might Be Giants (on a video)
Penn & Teller (on a ticket stub)
Original, personalized art by Jeff Smith (of Bone fame) and Ed Emberly (who did all those kids' drawing books; I met him at a party when I was 8, and he drew me sitting on Godzilla's head!)
Ones I bought/got as presents:
Dr. Demento (photo)
"Weird Al" Yankovic (12" single for "Fat")
Michael Palin & John Cleese (their respective "Pocketful of Python" books)
One of these days, I'll send the sleeve of my "Fish Heads" 45 to Barnes & Barnes to sign so I can frame it.
I have Woody Allen, Paul Newman, Roberto Benigni, Paul Marco (star of "Plan 9 From Outer Space") Bert I. Gordon (director of "The Beginning of the End"), and the immortal Joe Don Baker
Bruce Campbells autograph on hios book :) I'm p**sed cause I didnt get the chance to go up and see him in person, so my family( they live in Oregon) got it fer me. said hes a cool guy :)
HEE! I have a Lord of the Rings bad guy poster signed by Christopher Lee to me PERSONALLY! so its worthless to anyone not named Colleen! I have a friend whos in the know with him. and I also have Colin Blundstone and Rod Argent from the Zombies signature to me from a show they played at a bar a block away from my house! i snuck in butt i had to leave cos i had to watch my gramma while my mom took my uncle to work so i didnt get to see them! but my friend stayed and apparently colin was extremely horny! im so upset~! i mean im used to having old men drool over me but not kinda famous ones! i hope they come back so i can get old man signed panties or something.
love colleen
I have a large, autographed picture of Ellen Muth, who was in Dolores Claiborne. She lives in the same town as I do and her father manages the store where I get my glasses made. She was signing pictures at a video store like 5 minutes from my house. I made small talk and basically acted like a dork, completely wasting my opportunity to talk to someone who'd been in a big-name movie. :(
Ellen Muth (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Muth,+Ellen)
I left out 2:
2 Postcards from Bill Griffith(Zippy the Pinhead)
J.K. Rowling (Title page/Prisoner of Azkeban)

Really would like to have anything by John Cleese.
That dedicated poster by Mr. Lee to colleen rocks too much!! I finally got his autobiography -- no autograph -- "Tall Dark and Gruesome" from Amazon. Fascinating individual.
Would've loved to have met Peter Cushing. Probably would've gone the "tongue-tied dork" route on that one.

Wow Coleen! That's really cool!!! ( Lee autograph)
Bruce Campbell's autograph, one of my friends got his book signed for me for a wedding gift. Best gift ever!
I forgot Brent Spiner -- we got his when he was doing 1776 onstage here in NYC some years ago. Nice guy if you're not all Star Trek geeky.
Meteorologist Al Kaprielian!! (New Englanders here should know who I'm talking about)
Mobb Deep. They're my favrite group. It was amazing meeting them
Wow, you guys all have some pretty interesting autographs. I have one from Barry Sanders, former running back for the Detroit Lions. Very nice guy. I also have one from Virgil/Vincent, a guy who used to be a wrestler alongside the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase in the WWF. Very down to earth and humble. Both experiences were great. Neither of them are movie stars, but minor celebrities nonetheless.
Nick
I met Lloyd Kaufman, when he opened up Terror Firmer in Minneapolis and got his autograph. I got Scott Thompson and Mark Mckinney from Kids in the Hall's Autos on a ticket stub from their live show (Scott and Mark became my favorite Kids after that, they were the only ones that were cool enough to come out and sign stuff for more than a minute, Scott was out in the cold talking for a couple hours actually). I met Eric Idle when he did his solo tour of Python Songs and had him sign a 8x10.
I'm not huge on autographs though, I prefer getting my picture with people. Including the above I have my picture with each member of the Mr. T. Experience and many other punk bands. I can even impress teenage girls if I want because Blink 182 played with Less Than Jake back in 1997 or 1998 and I got to meet them.
Let's see.....most of mine are jokes because I don't really care for them, but I have Britney Spears (and she has mine--when I saw her, I pulled out a camera, took a picture of myself, autographed it, and gave it to her. Then she returned the favor). The Donnas, The Electric Hellfire Club, Jello Biafra, The Mr. T Experience, The Backstreet Boys (hahaha, just ran into them).
The motherlode is my autographed poster of Marilyn Chamber: "To Kwik Willy, with insatiable lust, Marilyn Chambers."
Now that Marilyn Chambers has passed, I'll bet that signed poster could fetch you a whopping load of $$$ somewhere sometime!
But I'd have to agree that that item would be very hard to part with.
Sure, you just "happened" to "run" into them. : ) Just like I "happened" (followed) to "run into" (tireless tracking) Billy Corgan during a visit to Chicago a few years back. I actually did do a lot of asking around to find out the normal social patterns of Corgan, and picked a time when he would be in a public place, like the museum I choose to arrange a 'chance' meeting with him. I've never been more nervous in my life than when I came up to talk to him. But it was all excess, cause HE ROCKED. He was such a great guy, wasn't even bothered at all I made myself known to him. We didn't talk for long, cause I didn't want to seem too clingy and annoying, but I did get a picture with him, and he signed my "ZERO" shirt in white-out. Never wash! Very cool experience
Scottie
EEy!!! stalking is SO COOL!!!! wowow!! be my bREAST friend!!! good job!!
love colleen
I am the proud owner of Burt Convy's autograph. Got it at a filming of "Win, Lose or Draw" at Disney World.
I've got G. Gordon Liddy's in a copy of Will (His autobiography). Got that almost 20 years ago when he was speaking at Gammage auditorium at Arizona State University. Shook his had. I was 6'4" at the time with a huge-ass hand, but even I could feel the power in the man's grip.
I also got a copy of Imzadi II signed by Peter David. I got that at one of the Arizona gaming conventions last year as part of the charity auction. Mr. David was there and actually spent some time just hanging out.
I was trying to get an autographed copy of Harlan Ellison's book form of the screenplay City on the Edge of Forever, but this and the other book with his autograph spiraled out of my price range rapidly. The autographed photo of Kevin Smith (Ares from Hercules) was sold for and impressive $300 as he had recently passed on in an accident on the set of Warriors of Virtue II.
Richard Biggs, Mira Furlan and Jerry Dolye from Bablyon 5, on a con booklet. Does that count?
Wow. Cushing and Lee. Too cool!
NHL Hall-of-Famer, and Boston's greatest f**king athlete EVER, Bobby Orr autographed a picture of him once. I've also met Kane Hodder and gotten an autograph from him, and have a picture of me and former ECW World, Tag Team, and TV champion Mikey Whipwreck.
I use to have the following autographs
The Magnificent Muraco (Don Muraco) Signed it on a bus schedule I was holding.
Sgt. Slaughter
Ed Ott (catcher for the Pirates the last time they won a world series)
Hank Aaron (Sent evelopes to alot of sports stars in the 70's with return stamped cards, autograph matched the one on my baseball cards. Sent in simply Hank Aaron, Atlanta Georgia and it was signed and sent back to me.) I was a big Pirates fan and Willie Stargell returned one to me one also.
my best friend is a Bruce cambell fan, hardcore and has not only a photograph with him and bruce in it for the camera, he has an Evil dead poster signed by all the cast members, and autographed novel by the man and works with bruce cousin here in out home town of Three Rivers
Marilyn Chambers is still quite alive, as I just met her a few months ago. Maybe you're thinking of the chick from Deep Throat, Linda Lovelace. She died.
You're right......
My bad.
I WAS thinking of Linda Lovelace.
Marilyn Chambers....Linda Lovelace....Debbie Does Dallas......They all sound the same to me.....LOL!!!

I have an omnibus of the first three books of blood autopraphed by Clive Barker and a few comics signed by charcter actor/writer Del Close.
Don't forget about "Hot and Spicey Pizza Girls"
I beat everyone here. I have Micheal Dudikoff's. Hehe
Also have an Evil Dead poster signed by the cast plus the makeup man. No Sam raimi though.
