Every once in a while you will find a movie with music so aful that it is almost hemmorhage-inducing and actually makes you wish you were deaf. The worst type of this music I have found is in Planet Of The Dinosaurs. The synth music is so bad it's not even deserving of of a 1960's cartoon.

Back when I used to tour as an actor/standup comedian, I had a friend named Matt Woods who had a killer bit about a guy who collected porno videos -- had a huge collection of them, in fact -- oh, but he never watched them. He just liked to listen to bad jazz . . .
"Debbie Does Dallas", a so-called "classic" porn film with a budget(?) from the '70's, not only has a hideously nail-in-your-brain bad musical score, but in one scene, the music track runs out so they just START IT OVER AT THE BEGINNING AGAIN after a period of silence. You can almost sense the guy scrabbling in the studio to flip the sound reel over & hitting "play" again. None of the music in any way corresponds to whatever is happening on the screen. Why did they even bother?
Theirs this one italian horror movie, it's about a girl who can communicate with bugs or some @!#$. It has this really stupid iron maiden song all through. The effect is totally comical and distracting. The worst movie ever "She-freak" has the worst music ever. It's like really rank dixie cup-lounge music. Man, that 's a bad f**kin movie
That Italian movie sounds like Phenomena (released intially as Creepers in the US before its DVD rerelease), Mr. Raffles. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

the opening theme to terrorvision made me feel carsick...really more like food poisioning in the back of a u-haul with a dead skunk on a 113F day while trying to read men are from mars and women from venus or anything with an oprah sticker on it.

comedian lewis black (the guy that yelled alot on the Daily Show) has a great routine (periodically on comedy central) about how hearing something completely nonsensical will lodge in your brain and eventually lead to an aneurism...
well...if this theme song doesn't lead to an aneurism, then nothing will.
and of course the Last House on the Left soundtrack with the totally misplaced bluegrass type music and also Radioactive Dreams, which was the same baaaad 80's song over and over and...over.

Peter's right: the recurring theme from "Debbie Does Dallas" is awful--yet effective. Years later I can still remember the whole freaking tune from beginning to end--even as it changes style halfway through into something like a soundtrack to an acid-trip horror flick (which is very strange, given the proceedings...).
Some other offenders include Deathstalker 2 and Dr. Detroit. However, Deathstalker 2 is excellent for its lines like the following:
Thug: You dare oppose us? Do you know who e are? ( or something to that effect)
Deathstalker: The village idiot and the two runners up ?
or
Thug: Quiet wench, or you'll eat steel for dinner!
Wench: You've already eaten everything else
By far the worst is the Dark Planet. The first half hour consists of claymation dinosaurs walkking around and making strange mewling, catlike noise. In the background is the most pathetic techno S--t you will ever herar. It then goes on with some wierd guys in ape oufits and a shottout following a long walk in a park. Perhaps the worst movie ever. Next to Red Surf.

There was this song "All time high" if you're into Bruce Lee you definately know it. "We're at an all time hiiiiiiiiiigh" awkward lyrics and horrivbble 70's melody. If you've ever heard "twelfth of Never" or anyhting like that, it's cut from the same cloth. "We're at an all time hiiiiiiiiiigh"
The Chocolate War. We read the book in english so we got to watch it in class. Sigh, another example of the movie killing the book.
Dr. Gore (AKA The Body Shop) has THE WORST SCORE EVER!!! The whole soundtrack consists of a song that sounds just like 'These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things' played on a toy piano. OVER AND OVER!! The only relief from the song comes during a ten minute country music number that occurs in a bar.
Has anyone forgotten "The words get stuck in my throat" in War of the Gargantuas?.....God knows i've tried......Of all lousy soundtracks, that one...song?...still makes me envision,oh....cordless bungee jumping, eating my .357 mag...oh, leaping in the pool hugging a running portable generator.!..that kind of thing.....
