I haven't shopped in a Walmart store in over a year. Last night, I went to one to buy some saline solution. I stumbled across a rack of DVDs for . . . I still don't believe it . . . $5.88 each. Okay, so they weren't the BEST titles, but they were certainly worth $5.88 each . . . all brand new, factory issued, still in the cellophane, beauties. I got:
* BLUE THUNDER - I never really liked this movie, but for $5.88, what the hell.
* GROSS ANATOMY - Overlooked comedy/drama starring Matthew Modine. I think it suffered because of its bad title, which makes it sound like a low-class teen comedy. It actually has some good dialogue, character development, etc. Sure, it's predictable . . . but for $5.88, you can't go wrong.
* ALTERED STATES - I liked this a lot when I saw it at the movies. Subsequent viewings left a lot to be desired. But I haven't seen it in at least 10 years, so what the hell . . .
* MADIGAN - A 1960s cop thriller starring Richard Widmark and Henry Fonda. Directed by Don Siegel (DIRTY HARRY, the original INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, etc.). I have never seen this one, but it must be worth $5.88.
They also had BATS, which I have never seen. I didn't buy it last night (I just couldn't bring myself to buy a Lou Diamond Philips movie), but I'm sure I will buy it sooner or later.

Yes, I have seen that bin and from it I got a 2 pack Superman Cartoon DVD. These are clasic episodes
Also got Dracula 2000 for 9 bucks, what a steal for a great movie
Same bin where I got CABIN BOY.
I too shop the 5.88 bin. I have aquired a few good films from the bin. Falling Down, 8MM, With Honors, Wildthings, Sharkey's Machine, and a few others that I can't think of at the moment. Great stuff.
I got HORROR HOTEL with christopher lee for 2.88 and I also got the roger corman flick, THE TERROR, and a jackie chan movie that supposedly has a 12 min fight seen, i haven't watched any of them yet though.
I bought SILENT TRIGGER from the $5.88 bin last week, found IRON MONKEY 2 for that also. I already had the Fleisher Superman cartoons, bought both for more separately at Wherehouse, but still a good deal for such great classic animation.
MAIDGAN is a decent film but it's more of a melodrama about big city detectives than a true thriller. Actually reminded me of watching "Hill Street Blues" and "NYPD Blue" more than anything. Good performances and intense (for the time) action, just don't go in expecting a test run for DIRTY HARRY.
Yeah, I still have yet to see the classic supermen, but how can u go wrong for 5.88???
Unfortunately no horror, just crap comedies are in the 5.88 bin at my Wal Mart.
