I live right down the street from that place and dammit man and I'm busy that day. :<
Yeah, I'm only seven hours out of Columbus, but I've got family obligations that weekend -- something that happens two or three times a year.
Isn't that always the way?
Damn! Thanks for the heads-up, Ken. Unfortunately, I too am gonna be really busy that weekend, so I probably won't be able to make it. Which sucks, 'cuz I've never been to an event like that, and they have some really cool movies on the line-up, from the looks of it. My home town finally gets a marathon that I know about in advance and I can't go. I agree with you guys, it always seems to go that way, unfortunately.
Nick
I think these guys need to start wooing us online reviewer types. Beg for my favor! Beg! Beg!
What, another Columbusite on the board? Who knew! I live in the south end, Perk. Hozbot you?
Man, i wish i could make it, but....Coyboy Bebop and Gamera 3...arghh! If i could make it in half way...humm....
Actually, Columbus seems a hotbed of genre fests. The Sci-Fi one due in a few weeks has been running for a while, as has a horror one due in October:

Boston also has a long-running sci-fi fest, and, of course, Evanston IL has B-Fest.
If anyone else knows of other such events, please drop by the Jabootu message board to let me know.
And if anyone can make it to the upcoming show, I'd be glad to hear how it went.
Marcon 38. 38 years of stuff.....man, what a catalog of weird. Dr. Demento has been showing up there for the last few years. Cool.
