Well I'm bored once again and trying to pass time again. However this time it's after a fairly successful midterm and after looking at some movies that were on sale for 5 dollars. Same rules apply as in part 1. have fun
1) Carnival of Souls
2) Psycho
3) Rollerball
4) The Shining
5) Manhunter/ Red Dragon
My choices are
1: Original
2: Original
3: Original
4: Hard choice. Remake was close to book but long. Original was intense. I'll say original
5: Only seen Red Dragon getting Manhunter soon.

didn't see either
original
original
remake
remake
1) Carnival of Souls - Only saw the original and I liked it - I heard the remake is terrible
2) Psycho - Not even close - the original is far better. Vince Vaughn is no Anthony Perkins and Gus van sant is no Alred Hitchcock.
3) Rollerball - Only saw the original, which I have mixed feelings about. Sometimes I watch it an I really enjoy it. Other times, it bores me to tears.
4) The Shining - The remake is better, but neither version is anywhere near as good as the book (as is usually the case).
5) Manhunter was good. I haven't seen Red Dragon yet.
In hindsight, I should not have participated in this string. Of the 5 choices, I have only seen both versions of 2 of them. I should be ashamed.

1) "Carnival of Souls"--I've only seen a few clips from the original...and they make me giggle. Is that the whole movie? She runs from Point A to Point B to Point C, and everyone she talks to turns out to be a Groovie Ghoulie? Haven't seen a scrap of the remake.
2) "Psycho"--Oh Jeez, is anyone going to favor the remake? Hats off to Gus for coming up with a concept more irritating and insulting than colorization.
3) "Rollerball"--Caught the last fifteen minutes of the remake and it made me urpy. I mean, seriously urpy. Run-for-the-toilet-blarrrrgh urpy. Chris Klein: Keanu "Lite." Also urpy.
4) "The Shining"--Kubrick's version is a fine horror film; it just needs a new title. Score one for the remakes!!! (Actually liked the "Simpsons" parody best of all!) Burgy prefers the book: true dat.
5) "Manhunter/Red Dragon"--Lordy, "Manhunter." Definitely "Manhunter."
