Title: The Night Visitor
Post by: The Burgomaster on April 21, 2003, 01:20:06 PM
Here is a forgotten movie that's worth seeing. I picked it up on DVD a couple of years back . . . not sure if it's still available.

It's a thriller starring MAX VON SYDOW. He's locked up in this castle-type prison that is supposedly impossible to escape from. He comes up with an ingenious plan to escape at night, get revenge on his enemies, and then sneak back into his cell before morning.

This is one of those movies that was released to drive-ins during the 1970s under misleading titles and ad campaigns to make people think it was a horror movie. It's actually a better-than-average thriller with a few well-known European stars. It has a nice, humorous, twist ending, too.

Definitely worth seeing if you can get your hands on a copy.

Thanks very much for digging up this much-forgotten treat,Burg, for it's a very entertaining movie that contains the type of character developement, and strong build-up to all of the terror , that is sadly missing from today's genre cinema("House Of 1000 Corpses",anyone ?!).
