Not only should end immediately, but should have ended a long time ago!

Don't forget NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, though I did like NEW NIGHTMARE.

With the Hellraiser series I barely even notice anymore.  Every time I go to rent a movie there's a new Hellraiser movie, how many scripts could they have?  Ohh........... nevermind

Witchcraft!  I stopped renting the series after about #5, thought I think it is up to number 11 or 12 by now.

Both Universal and Dimension have stated publicly that there are no immediate (or back burner) plans to launch either Jaws 5 or Scream 4 at any time.  But I am happy to report (again) that Universal is releasing both Jaws 3 and Jaws the Revenge on a dual sided DVD in anamorphic widescreen this July.  I was getting tired of the murky pan and scanned prints of the Jaws 3.  I do hope that the disc also offers the movie trailers (especially the teaser for Jaws III in 3-D I saw in front 48 Hours back in the day).

While Halloween 9 is planned, nothing is set as of yet.

Oh, you know I'm eagerly awaiting:

"The Secret of NIMH 3: The Beginning"
"Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys"
"Octopus 3"
"Leprechaun 6: Back To Da Hood"
"Star Trek XI: Oh, Please"

(Patrick Stewart's clod encounter with Trekkies: going onstage to perform in Shakespeare's "The Tempest" and finding two people sitting in the front row in ****ing Starfleet uniforms. Quoth the Cap'n: "I wanted to hurt them.")

...and "Freddy vs. Jason." Jesus, are suckers STILL throwing their parents' money at this toilet?

God,

Do you remember this very very good animated film the Land Before Time.
Maybe you remember Beauty and the Beast, another fun one.

Land Before TIme I believe is working on its 8th and B and the B must have at least 6-8 spinoffs. Oh the humanity.

Kangaroo Jack in Las Vegas is also now in pre production mode (I.E. writing the script.... Yay)

It was based on a video game, what did you expect?

Steve B: ( goofy snob accent) well steven I thuroughly disliked the movies basis on stealing from other movies, poor choces in dialougue and rotten characters. it was truelly an experience in rage control for me to even gaze upon this fecal pile of a picture. I came  in with no expectations and left with a headache.  that is my humble opinion :P

JMC: well as a screenwriter( I'm still a film student :) ) I see nothing but potential from the video games storyline and characters. It's practacly an honest little story about survival that takes the zombie and monster rules an breaks them many times with creativity.

Sure the characters really only have characteristics, but any good screenwriter who has done a little reading on the characters backrounds( the 2 paragraphs of it) can see there are many in betweens that can be used to make the character seem real on the silver screen. but thats my opinion.

And of course my opinion on Mr.Anderson is that he lose both testicles and never be able to reproduce his crap genes.  "I'll be here all week, remember to tip your waitress"

I am actually looking forward to
"Puppetmaster vs. Demonic Toys"- it's pretty obvious who will win though, as the former is more popular

"Leprechaun 6: Back In Da Hood"- purely out of curiosity do I want to see this, I like the series except for five

Nu Image just needs to stop with their movie of the week quality creature films (I liked a lot of them but these all do not need to be franchises).

Trancers has my oka y as long as they get Thomerson back...

Robocop is dead but some look at it with greed in their eyes...

Other than that I am not really sure of anything else at the moment

Title: Paul Anderson

I happen to like Paul Anderson's films.  Event Horizon kicks major ass, and Resident Evil was an extremely pleasant suprise.

The director has been announced as Alexander Witt (a second unit director making the leap to his own projects).  Paul Anderson's script has Alice (Milla) leading a rag tag group of survivors out of Raccoon City.  Shooting is set to commence this August in Toronto.  Nemesis is set to appear.  The planned title had been Resident Evil: Nemesis, but since Star Trek: Nemesis did poorly at the box office, then it makes producers think that all movies featuring the word Nemesis will do poorly.  Uh, yeah, riiiiiiight.

Anderson, as most of us already know, has been given the Alien Versus Predator movie to destroy.

Dunners, you are truly my twin soul.

Resident Evil is the same piece of stupid whory b***hness as Buffy The Vampire Slayer and many,MANY comic books out there. It´s car and it doesn´t deserve a sequel.Milla Jovovich should be drawn, quartered and had her intestine ripped off.

Still in development.  Paul W.S. Anderson is probably still drafting a script (he had to step down from directing his script for Resident Evil 2 because of his contractual obligation to Aliens Versus Predator).  Whether or not there is ever a P3 will depend on how well AvP does.  I guess.

My son (who is eight and delights in watching me play Resident Evil 3: Nemesis) is looking forward to Resident Evil 2 because he wants to see Jill (he refuses to call Milla by her character name of Alice) kick Nemesis's butt.

Alien VS Predator is NOT listed in imdb,so it can´t be in development.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Fangoria.com ran the news ages ago.  Anderson is currently working on the script, which is the reason he left the directing chores on Resident Evil 2, which he wrote, to someone else (one Alexander Witt).  This allows himself to be free to direct AvP if his script gets a green light.  Whether one of the countless movies Hollywood is toying is listed on the IMDB or not is meaningless.  Deny it all you want, the director of Event Horizon, Soldier, and Resident Evil has a deal to deliver a script and possibly direct the movie.  Now if it gets PRODUCED, that's something else.  This is how Hollywood works: Anderson will write a script, the studio will look at it, decide if they want to invest in it, then they will announce the movie as being officially in development.  AvP is a lost closer to getting out of Development Hell than ever before.  Whether the trip was worth it or not remains to be seen.

Here is a link announcing Anderson's connection to the long in development sequel, http://www.fangoria.com/news_article.php?id=253.  Note that it is dated July 15, 2002.

Here is another link in regards to Resident Evil 2, which mentions Aliens Versus Predator, http://www.fangoria.com/news_article.php?id=497 .

Hope that clears up the misunderstanding.

The IMDB is a voluntary database of information. Studios are not required to enter information about anything they're doing.

Shanghai Knights? there was the sequel nobody wanted.....

It pretty much seems like anyone can make a sequel to a movie these days. Hell, if Hollywood thought D.O.A. 2 could make money, they'd do it. Watch Dennis Quaid walk down the hall, die, then it would pick up somewhere else.....

I may not be Steven Spielberg or Frank Crapa, but I know how movies are supposed to be made, and I´ll tell you this:not every movie needs or deserves a sequel.

Title: Grease 3!
Post by: raj on May 05, 2003, 03:24:05 PM
For the love of god, no:

The plan is to set the new project in the late-'70s, feature plenty of disco music and have the story evolve around the children of the original characters. John Travolta  and Olivia Newton-John, stars of the 1978 original, have already been given a heads-up that their services will be sought once a script is completed. A search for writers is underway. . .
