OKay once again I have nothing better to do and since the sequel to the original thread prety much died a horrible death I have decided to do this final installment in the epic Remake vs Original series. Here are the movies for this last thread. Same rules apply as in the other threads. Vote which version you think is better.
1)The Mummy
2)The Time Machine
3) The Blob
4) Willard
5) Maximum Overdrive/ Trucks (based off same story so I count them)
Unfortunately I have only seen The Mummy, the Blob (remake) and Maximum Overdrive so I cannot say which version I like of any of these movies .Have fun.
1. Kind of a toss-up. The original was creepier, but boring in spots. The remake has more action, but I hated the CGI mummy.
2. Original. I didn't mind the new one, but I didn't like some of the things they did with the sstory.
3. Another toss-up. I like the story and pacing of the remake, but I like the blob in the original more. That one looked like it could really pour itself through tthe smallest holes. I have trouble believing that the one in the remake could ever fit itself through a grating.
4. Haven't seen the remake.
5. Original. The USA miniseries was closer to the original story, but it dragged on too long.

1)The Mummy - I prefer the Hammer version to the first and the most recent.
2)The Time Machine - Original, though I will say that the second remake struck me as being better than the first.
3) The Blob - Original. Not that the remake is that bad - it isn't. It's just There's something about the first one I like better
4) Willard - Haven't finished the first, haven't seen the second.
5) Maximum Overdrive/ Trucks - Maximum Overdrive, by a long margin. I only saw the tail end of Trucks , but, then again, that was all I needed to see.
Besides, Maximum Overdrive is the greatest movie of all time.
...
Really, it is.
...
Stop looking at me like that.

1. I liked both pretty equal, but I prefer some of the older Mummy sequels... They were just so silly.
2. Haven't seen the remake and don't remember the original
3. Remake! I just dug this one, lots more energy to me, but I like the original as well
4. Have seen neither
5. Maximum Overdrive is King, Trucks is luke Warm pizza on a Saturday when you find out you have Herpes...
Haven't seen the first WILLARD, but the remake is definiltey worthwhile.
Mummy- I think they are equal, the Mummy remake was a surprisingly fun romp. However, The Mummy 2 and the Scorpion King just sucked period.
Time Machine - The original by far, while the remake started off well, it deteriorated quickly, plus nothing beats the original ending
Blob - remake, the original just dragged too much
Williard- Equal - both had ups and downs
Never seen either of the trucks
Mummy- Original, but the new one was great as far as remakes go, lots of cool action.
Time Machine - Haven't seen either but heard the remake is godawfuk
Blob - Remake. I just love it, something about it. Great blob effects, and the pacing is a lot better
Williard- Didn't see either
Maxumum Overdrive / trucks - M.O. kills trucks. Trucks was extremely awful, except for the little remote control truck that killed that guy, that was kinda funny.
Jesus Christ, this thread brought back all the bile that's been latent inside me since I wasted money on the rental fee for TRUCKS. I mean, Maximum Override isn't oscar material, but at least Stephen King directed that movie, so it never goes completely off the rails! But Trucks... what a load of ****
There are two reasons to watch that movie:
1) The afformented scene with the toy car that manges to kill a full grown man, and
2) A scene where a protection suit attached to a car self-inflates, picks up an axe, and hacks two scientists to death.
Appart from that, this film is 100% inept, despite trying to stick to the original story. It's proof positive that you need at least one shred of talent in your body to make a successfull King adaption (don't get me started on The Langoliers)... Watching bad movies can be fun, but Trucks is just deppressing. Sawing off your own genitals with a rusty saw is more rewarding (and fun). If anyone is still interested in seeing this film after all the dirt that's been slagged at it in this forum, well.... i know a good psychiatrist...
BTW, has anyone seen "Dreamcatcher"? Is it any good?

I found Dreamcatcher to be highly entertaining. It had a lot of laughs and was just fun to watch. Oscar worthy? No. But it was decent enough to try and catch. But thats my opinion
