Rented three decent movies the night before last. Figured I'd post a little review for each.
Red Dragon-Of course it wasn't as good as Silence, and it wasn't as good as Ridley Scott's Hannibal, but it did hold it's own. Clocking in right around two hours, it was probably the shortest in the series. Ed Norton is fantastic (Natch) as the FBI agent out to catch the new copy cat killer called "The Tooth Fairy" due to the strange dental marks left on his prey. If you want to see a great thriller, rent Manhunter which is the original version of this film. Much better.
Cube 2 Hypercube-Although I have read quite a few bad reviews of this film here on this board, I still couldn't help myself from renting it. I recently saw the original a few months ago on the IFC, and loved it. It was tense, and entertaining. The sequel however is basically all CGI with few kills, no tenson, and leaves you without any lack of compassion for any of the characters. The original didn't rely heavily on CGI and I loved that. This one is all about some computer animations. If you want a good flick, rent the original.
The Kentucky Fried Movie-Ok, this is where my "What Movie" part starts. I rented the KFM thinking that it was a film that I had seen a few years ago on cable. The flick I'm thinking of had one scene where a teenage boy goes into a local drugstore to buy condoms and turns out to be the one millionth customer. Another scene from the movie I'm trying to find had a guy watching his own roast at his funeral.
Anyway, the KFM was actually pretty funny. The newscast shorts were hilarious (The Popcorn You Are Eating Has Been p**sed In....Film At 11). But I'm afraid that some of the jokes just came out flat. The explotation film spoof was hilarious as was the newscasters watching the couple have sex on the couch. Overall it was a decent flick, kinda reminded me of what Monty Python would have put together had they been American.
The movie you are thinking of is AMAZON WOMEN ON THE MOON.
If you like these kinds of movies, you should also rent THE GROOVE TUBE.
Thanks Burgo!
KFM is one of the greatest movies ever. I could watch Fistful of Yen every day for the rest of my life and still crack up every time.
For the moment, I'm staying away from Cube 2. I don't think I've heard one good thing about it. And that's really a disappointment, considering the caliber of the first one.

It seems like there was another one too, but I can't think of what it was called.
