That´s what I think of the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Punisher remakes.
How about you?Which movie didn´t need(or doesn´t need)a remake?
I don't think we need a TCM remake. However, I would like to see a PUNISHER remake. The first one was okay as a pure mindless action film, but Dolph Lundgren is the most boring actor on the face of the earth (with Christopher Lambert running a close 2nd). I'd like to see someone with a bit more talent in the role.
I agree. At least the guy playing the Punisher ( Thomas Jane ) can act - well I loved him in Boogie Nights anyway. I'm sure if this was handled well, kinda like the latest Garth Ennis run of comics, it could be a lot of fun.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre no- one wanted or asked for. Absolutely no point in this remake whatsover.
Not only should TCM not be remade, it CAN'T be remade. The time is past. With the obvious exception of one Mr. R. Zombie, (and I think this was discussed briefly in a past thread) the ability to make gritty sleazy movies has been largely lost to mankind. And TCM was definitely gritty and sleazy. The remake will doubtless look all nice and shiny and have that godawful "soap opera sheen" that all the stupid teen slasher movies have these days. My hackles raise just thinking about it. Well, what I believe to be my hackles, at any rate.

There is a V - that's the one where he fights "Tommy Gunn" at the end. Part VI is the one we all need to fear . . . Be afraid, be very afraid.
Psycho.
And at some point, someone will look at the original Star Wars and say "hey, I can do a lot better with the special effects now. . ."
