I have never done this, no matter how much I hated the movie.
But I came very close once. What was the movie? DUNE.
I've never done this either but, I almost did for The Messenger: The story of Joan of Arc and Goldmember. Unfortunatly I was with people both times, so I had to sit through the crap
Never have
Never did, but Dune was close. As was War of the Roses.
I don't see many movies these days, with my life and schedule it's hard to arrange. So I'm very selective in what I'll go put down money to see, and thus I don't see much that I don't go in knowing I will enjoy watching.
When I was younger, my parents were big sci-fi/action movie buffs so they took me to a lot of stuff that I kinda wished I could see again if I can find it
Only one.
Chasing Amy.
And finally others who hate Dune as well!
All my friends for some unknown reason seem to love that film.
I think it's one of the biggest pieces of s**t I've ever seen!
I didn't mind "Dune" butIas long as it was, it still felt like I was watching the trailer for a much longer story
I personally have walked out on WATERWORLD and HUDSON HAWK but the mention of people walking out on movies always reminds me of 1983(I believe) when my friends and I first saw THE EVIL DEAD when it was playing at theatres (and my nephews always make me feel old by their astonished reaction to the fact that I was around when that movie first came out). We LOVED it and went back a few nights running to watch both the movie and the reactions of various audience members who had apparently never seen any horror films outside the mainstream. MANY people were getting up and walking out ,usually during the extended bit where the 2nd person is possessed, and they'd all be muttering their disgust at the violence on screen. One memorable guy, though, made it through the goriest segments just fine but during the Dark Humor of the "Eyes opened/eyes closed " bit when Ash is digging a grave for his girlfriend this guy suddenly stood up and shouted "This is the SICKEST movie I've ever SEEN!" and stalked out.
Predator this is also my answer to another survey question on the board about movies others love but you hate. I sneeked into the theater to watch this as a teenager and I walked out wanting the hour I had spent in that theater back! Stupidest piece of dredlock waring bulls**t.
I havn't, but I almost did for Ecks vs Sever.
Movies I walked out of the theatre(and don´t plan on seeing it on video):
Gremlins 2:The New Batch(you gotta understand,I was 6 years old at the time)
Legally Blonde
About A Boy
The Curse Of The Jade Scorpion
Simone
The Tuxedo(almost)
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Titus(OK,they kicked me out of the theatre, but close enough)
That´s all I can think of.
zero.
i'm more just lazy than tolerant though.
I've pretty selective about the movies I see, so I've never walked out of any.
Came close with..
ecks Vs.Sever
and resident evil(f**k YOU PWSA!)
Never walked out on a movie, came close though. Now if we want to talk video's I sent many flying across the room.
I walked out on Fast and the Furious. My brain was threatening to climb out my ear and run away if I made it sit through any more of Paul Walker's "acting."
Brother R
Begged friends to let me leave: "Deep Rising."
Left with less than fifteen minutes remaining: "Night Shadows" (AKA "Mutant").
Left in first fifteen minutes: "Cannonball Run II."
Remained seated: "Congo" and "Judge Dredd" double-feature.
I liked "Dune" enough, but I can understand those who don't. As I see it, the problem with it is that almost any scene has a voice over to make us understand what we just saw, which makes it quite unbearable. Still, the visuals are great and so is the story, if you try to pay attention and you don't give up easily.
Personally, I can't remember ever leaving a cinema before the movie ended, though I have been as close as you can be without actually heading to the exit with the following:
- "Phantoms": That slow, slow pace was killing me.
- "We were soldiers": Worst movie I have ever seen with the exception of...
- "Vanilla Sky": A decent sci-fi thriller remade into a romantic comedy starring Tom Cruise (!) and Penelope Cruz. Scary or what... What's worst, it spans for over 130' and has some of the worst placed music (including the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations") I have ever heard.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......... I have never walked out of a movie theatre...
Not yet but came close with "Dreamcatcher" and "Dr. Dolittle 2"
Now if we want to talk about the stage theater I've done it four times with "Bride of Frankenstein Goes Malibu," "Rent," "Cats," and "Rocky Horror Picture Show." Love the film, but the stage show has some of the worst music I've never heard.
twice...wagons east and mixed nuts
never walked out of a movie but I came close with some
Kung Pow Enter the Fist
The Ring
House of a 1000 corpses(mostly because there was a guy weezing behind me and it was real f**king irratating)
Me Myself and Irene
I've only walked out 4 movies in my entire life:
HUDSON HAWK - I actually went down the hall and saw ARMY OF DARKNESS for a 3rd time just to feel like I got my money's worth.
AMOS & ANDREW - I actually went down the hall and saw STONE COLD for a 2nd time just to feel like I got my money's worth.
JERKY BOYS: THE MOVIE - Hell, I just went home. Two days later I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection in my digestive tract. I've never been able to prove a link to the movie but I think that film was terrible enough to cause illness.
TARZAN & THE LOST CITY OF GOLD - What does it say about a movie's quality when I walked out of $1 matinee showing with only 15 minutes left in the film?
