Title: Fleischer resigns
Post by: Evan3 on May 19, 2003, 12:25:00 PM
hahahahaha

"I want to do something more relaxing â€" like dismantle live nuclear weapons," he quipped.
-Bush's press secretary Ari Fleisher on his retirement before Bush's next campaign...... seems like Bush has a lot of work to do

Good for him, I wish him well.  He had a pretty crappy job.

That's gotta be a real tough job, no matter who's the president.  Every day you have to face a pack of rabid journalists, each one wanting to be the next Woodward & Bernstein, salivating at taking down the prez.

True,

I wonder who had it worse, Al Gore's publicist during his mishandled campaign, or Fleischer for trying to smooth over all of the wrong moves that Bush has made.

(For the record I AM a conservative)

I always felt sorry for whoever was speaking for Clinton.

(said as an independent/libertarian type)

Well, Fleisher is reportedly a fan JRR Tolkein. Maybe he wanted to free up time to sit in line for tickets for ROTK.

Seriously, according to one of the network newscasts, he said he knew if he didn't resign now he would have to stick it out through Bush's re-election campaign. He gave the usual reasons given: stressful job, spend time with the wife, and to make some money.
