I would have to say that mine is Shriek If you Know What I did Last Summer. It had a lot of the same elements of Scary Movie but, I thought it was done better. I'd put What's Up Tigerlily first but, I don't really know where to put it after Woody went through it spoof, satire, no matter what it rules ( or in the case of cool people it rulz!!!)
The entirety of Kentucky Fried Movie is hilarious, IMO. Same goes for the first Naked Gun, as well as both Hot Shots! movies. Especially Hot Shots Part Deux. I can't stop laughing when Charlie Sheen starts to kill all of the soldiers and there's a body count total that compares the amount of kills to movies infamous with high death tolls. And, after he gets done killing them, he tosses a handful of bullets at them and they fall down. Classic stuff if you're an action junkie and love the Rambos, much like myself. People hated Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, but I thought some parts were pretty funny. Anything that mocks action and kung fu movies is great in my book, 'cuz I'm such a big fan of them both.
Nick
I'd have to say Kung Pow since Dolph brought it up. It's rare that I find a movie that I can bust a gut at laughing every time I watch it, and Kung Pow is number one for that.
Brother R
Kung Pow is a great movie, I started to quote the peanut vendor and then nobody would ever play me chess again. In the first Naked Gun there was so many jokes that I missed the first 8 times that I saw it that I'm still catching things now (like the pizza). Airplane would also have to rank high on my lists of spoofs
Galaxy Quest, for me. Deflating that Other Series, the one that's so self-important. What's it called now?
YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN tied with BLAZING SADDLES.
Good ones.
Also
Airplane!
I'd have to say that the "Fistful of Yen" segment in KENTUCKY FRIED MOVIE is one of the funniest spoofs I have evr seen.
I also think the Austin Powers movies are excellent spoofs of James Bond and 1960s lifestyles in general.
good call, 'knetucky fried movie' rocks. i also like 'amazon women on the moon', it's not as good - but it's still great. i don't know why they don't make these weird serial spoof movies anymore.
two not mentioned so far for the 80's heads:
'uhf'
'hollywood shuffle'
For me it's MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL , LOVE AND DEATH and THE RUTTLES.
I'll stick with a tie between What's up Tiger Lilly and Spinal Tap . . . though I like most if the other ones mentioned (have to disagree with Kung Pow though). If you havn't rented the DVD for SP do, immediatly, almost enough unused footage from the first movie to make a sequal . . . some parts not used were even better than the movie itself!
Other Runners up (not mentioned):
1) Undercover Brother: I Know! I'm sooooo ashamed, but it was a funny spook of Black Exploitation Movies.
2) Spaceballs: No one mentioned this? Outrageous!
3) Dr Strangelove: Does this count?
4) MAR'S ATTACKS: NO ONE MENTIONED MARS ATTACKS????? Just cause it's mainstream doesn't mean it's not great! I sang Uma Paloma Blanca - ah- ah! for two weeks after seeing this film, with visions of exploding heads the entire time. I'm probably the only Evangelical minister (part time) on the list and I'm sure I'm the only one who used this as a sermon illustration (to a youth group) ever! And yes some parents complained, but they got over it.
5) Can't remember the name, but there is a movie which involves Peter Sellers getting married, I'm sure if I understood it that it would have been very funny!
Thoughs Anyone?

Sorry that was a typo, not an attempt at bad humor, I meant to type Spoof, not Spook. Any offended I sincerely appologise, no offense intended!
Rob
Young Frankenstein
Whats up,Tiger Lily?
Kung Pow,Enter the fist.
Spaced Invaders.
Top Secret.
Airplane!
Shrek.
The Big Bus.
More as they come to me.....Hummm....
Shriek If You Know... f**kING SUCKS! Scary Movie kicks its puny ass!
Scary Movie(first one only9is one of the best spoof movies ever, and Not Another Teen Movie comes in a close second.
he-he, he's got it Hot Shot Part Deux was funny I liked when Ryan Stiles said,"...and in fifteen years when they are all paid off i'm goin' to blow the S_ _ _ out of them."
UHF is great! I wouldn't say it's a straight up spoof though.
NATIONAL LAMPOON'S LOADED WEAPON I gets far too much airtime at my house.
I also enjoyed NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE quite a bit. Especially the slow clap guy.
No one has mentioned the original James Bond spoof, Casino Royale? Way too many Bonds in this film and the only spoof to call it's self a real James Bond film
It´s NOT a spoof.It´s a comedy,but it´s not a spoof.
An ACTUAL James Bond spoof is"Spy Hard",with Lesie Nielsen.
My favorites;
Airplane 1 & 2
Young Frankenstein
Student Bodies
Student Bodies, oh man I forgot about that one, excellent movie. From the stairs to the parade float and especially the horsehead bookends, just cinematic greatness. My favorite character has to be Malven(or Malburt, or something else I just know Mal is in there somewhere). I was lucky enough to tape it off of USA Up all Night with Gilbert Gottfried.
>My favorite character has to be Malven(or Malburt, or something
"Malvert, a guy with the IQ of a handball and the personaity of a parking meter - violated!"
A couple spoofs no one mentioned, probably because they aren't that good are wacko and prime time. I like both but neither are my favorites. I'm an airplane fan myself.
Spaceballs
TOP SECRET . . . . one of my all time favorite movies!!! :bouncegiggle:
Closely followed by AIRPLANE
Airplane! - one of the few comedies I can watch over and over.
Spaceballs - love that one. "We can't stop, we have to slow down first!"
Pretty much all of those Leslie Nielson movies. Just love that guy. Police Squad was an awesome TV show too.
Blazing Saddles, History of the World Part 1, Robin Hood : Men In Tights, Young Frankenstein, Dracula : Dead And Loving It and High Anxiety all come to mind when you mention favorite spoofs. While they were not spoofs of a certain film, they did spoof entire film genres covering westerns, historical epics, Hitchcock films, Robin Hood films, and classic horror. I loved them and wish people still made spoof films the way Mel Brooks did instead of these crapfests like Disaster Movie and Meet The Spartans.
Young Frankenstein
Lost Skeleton of Cadavra
Spaceballs
Police Squad, Naked Gun 1 and 2
Repossessed is one of my favourites. I like Kung Fu Hustle too (although it's more a spoof of a genre than a particular movie).
Not so keen on Epic Movie. I want to see Superhero Movie (I think that is what it is called) but I do not expect it to be any good.
Oh, I also like the 305 (an odd spoof of 300 that started on youtube and became the first Viral Video to be made into a feature film).
Teen Agent
.YOUNG FRANKENSTIEN
.BLAZING SADDLES
.LOOSE SHOES
.KENTUCKY FRIED MOVIE
.TROMA"S WAR
.AIRPLANE
.NAKED GUN
.I'M GONNA GET YOU,SUCKA!

I reference the original post when I say Shriek if you know what I did Last Friday the 13th is one of my favorite comedies :) .
:twirl: Ahhhh, spoofs. Ya gotta love em. They make most people laugh, but the only things in them that make me laugh is the seriously flawed logic of them. One of my favorite spoof scenes was in the movie Airplane! (Spoof of Airport) In the scene, striker is at the front desk getting a ticket for the flight. When he is asked for a smoking or nonsmoking ticket, he requests a smoking one. But its the ticket that is smoking, not he! LOL!!! :bouncegiggle:
You can't forget Mel Brook's little Star Wars satire Space Balls. The G4 channel is right now showing animated episodes of that movie to update it with the three Star Wars prequels.
I was so amused when they turned a winnebago RV into a space ship by simply adding wings with nacelles. My favorite scene in that movie was towards the end when princess Vespa was marrying the extremely dull Prince Valium. Then Lone Starr comes in and says "Prince Lone Starr." Then Vespa says "Prince?" "That's what this says, I'm an honest-to-God prince. Will you marry me?" "Well let me think about it." She pushes Prince Valium aside then says "Yes!"
That is my favorite scene in that film. There are many more, but I won't go into the now.
Does anyone remember Mel Brooks' spoof to Robin Hood Prince of Thieves? Yup, Robin Hood men in tights. I got a few laughs out of that one too, though not as many as Disney's version of Robin Hood. What I found funny in that film was what they renamed the Sheriff of Nottingham, the Sheriff of Rottingham :bouncegiggle: A favorite scene of mine from that film was after Robin's castle was taken and a boy runs towards Robin and Company, then the Sheriff of Rottingham and his cavalry come in. His Cavalry are all playing a pursuit song on kazoos :twirl: I just loved after that scene when The Sheriff challenges Robin to a sword fight. He only pulls out a hilt, but Robin pulls out a full longsword. Robin then cuts something on the Sheriff's saddle and he is suddenly on his horse's belly instead of Back. Then he says to Robin "I was angry at you before, Locksley. But now I'm p**sed off!" The Achu says "p**sed off? If I was that close to a horse's weiner I'd be worried about getting p**sed on!" Then the Sheriff orders his men to kill Robin and coompany then Robin points his sword at the Sheriff's chest and the Sheriff rescinds the order. Robin turns the horse and the Sheriff around and sends them on their way. They Sheriff's men follow, still playing their kazoos. As the horse is galloping, the Sheriff gets a few hundred konks on the head. I laughed so hard at that scene I almost went into hypoglycemic shock.
Oh God. we all need a good laugh every now and again, and spoofs almost never let us down.
Airplane!- Saw it back in '94 or so, at the ripe age of ten, and loved it ever since.
Naked Gun Series- Leslie Nielsen is a favorite, so this was good for me.
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves- May not be Mel Brooks best, but the first one I saw and it makes me laugh regardless.
Spaceballs- Rick Moranis owns his role.

Mel Brooks didn't do Prince of Thieves, Kevin Costner did. The one you're thinking about is Men in Tights.
Most people seem to despise Brook's DRACULA: DEAD AND LOVING IT but I thought it was a clever spoof of the Universal and Hammer Dracula films.
Peter McNicol as Renfield really seems to be channeling Dwight Frye.

"I also enjoyed NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE quite a bit. Especially the slow clap guy."
I still try to start the slow clap every once and awhile. Nobody gets it but me.
Ozzymandias speaks: I recently bought a copy of Hound of the Baskerville with Cook and Moore. I don't like it as well as Bedazzled, but it is fun. It is worth $3 for this part alone (Note Peter Cook is not in this scene).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQ6ImgcDWRM
I also like Peter Sellers Fiendish Plot of Fun Manchu. Also, Rustler Rhapsody.
Don't forget This Is Spinal Tap (It may have been mentioned). Also Woody Allen's Take the Money and Run (crime films), Sleeper (science fiction) and Shadows and Fog (sort of German expresionism/Universal horror/early Hitchcock).
Speaking of Hitch, Mel Brooks High Anxiety.
All the others I like have been mentioned.
Ozzymandias has spoken!
I imagine no one else will mention it, so I'll go ahead -
some parts of AN AMERICAN CAROL were hilarious!

Yeah, that's right. Mindfart for a minute. Don't know what happned there. :buggedout:
SHAUN OF THE DEAD is great, but I've decided HOT FUZZ is even better.
"Stop, or the ginger nut gets it!" :teddyr:
I'd consider The Brady Bunch Movie to be a pretty good spoof movie. Granted, they just spoof The Brady Bunch, but make a pretty damn good go of it.
