I know this was brought up several posts ago, but I just saw it and thought I'd add my two cents.
EVOLUTION is pretty much a harmless science comedy, in the tradition of GHOSTBUSTERS. Not surprising considering it was directed by Ivan Reitman. Time to turn your brain off and enjoy the entertainment.
I thought the CGI was well done. I didn't even really notice it, unless I was consciously thinking that they were created with computers when I was looking at them. I usually just accepted the reality of the situation (such as it was). The scene in the mall was particularly well done, not to mention the last scene.
By the way, I think someone should start a petition to keep Dan Akroyd out of movies.
THINGS I LEARNED FROM THIS MOVIE:
-To become a general, one must ignore all advice or evidence and do what you think "feels right". This generally (get it?) involves blowing something up. Not that it matters because. . .
-The Governor of Arizona can pull rank on you.
-Even a giant sack of goo has a place where it "does its business".
-The active ingredient in Head & Shoulders is selenium sulfide. (Not funny, but true.)
-If you need an overly complex approach to getting laid, faking the end of the world isn't a bad idea.
We're of the same mind then Mofo (boy, that sounds like I'm agreeing with you with malice). Here is my earlier post:
