Been catching the new season of Adult swim, Cartoon Networks tribute to weirdness.
Anyone else notice the "Title card" printed lines between segments and shows? Not too bad actualy.
"Harvey Birdman" and "Sealab 2021" are liveing up to the C.N. standards of the unexpected, for sure. Anyone else think the Redone oldies are on a par with, or superior, to the brand new shows?
i love Adult Swim.
it's a little sad since they took "Reign" off, but it's still groovy.
i love those title cards! they crack me up.
and those little re-dubbed shorts with the bleeps. love those.
it's up there for weirdness, but it's good.
i really love aqua teen!and meatwad!! and DANZIG was on aquateen! YES! im not too in love with harvey birdman though. and im not really fond of the new note things they have either, theyre okay for now but when they dont change the messages for 6 months its gonna get really old. they should put home movies on every night again!
love colleen
Harvey Birdman is one of the best shows ever in my opinion. Whenever I watch it I can't stop laughing!
i do miss Home Movies.
i had a cig ole crush on Coach McGurk...
but i'm not sure why...musta been those footie pyjamas
I like the changes...the lifeguard graphics were getting old, though the new ones will make new viewers wonder why it's called Adult Swim.
My favorites are probably Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Harvey Birdman, and Sealab, in that order. Sometimes Sealab just makes you think "That was weird" instead of making you laugh.
Yes, I too love Adult Swim, for it has the best show ever on it. Inuyasha. If they take that off I would die. I already miss Home movies and the Oblongs enough,
They took away my Ripping Friends. They took away my Mission Hill (I think), but I do love the redone oldies with the cursing bleeps.

I must admit, after hearing everyone go on and on about Adult Swim, I began to watch it and I find myself watching more and more lately. There's this crazy cartoon called Lupin on every weeknight at 12 that I've started to watch. At what time does Adult Swim begin, and is the program schedule the same every day?

The best stuff is on Sunday nights, from 11 to 2; that's when they drag out all the really warped comedy. I honestly think that Adult Swim (the comedy, at least-- I don't watch much of the anime) is some of the best stuff on TV. If you don't believe me, channel-surf during the commercial breaks, and marvel at the difference.
I think Home Movies is still on. I'm pretty sure the Oblongs are too, just moved to different times.
They rotate stuff, so I doubt anything is ever really gone for good. I miss Brak but I'm sure he'll be back again.

I love the Harvey Birdman series, I wish they would step up productionand make more of them. My favorites are the "Flintstones/Sopranos" spoof (so dead on) and the one where he was defending Boo Boo against charges that he was the "Unabooboo".
"Sealab 2021" is usually pretty cool in a twisted sort of way, but sometimes you can tell they just say screw it and decided to be weird/irritating (like this past Sunday's episode). It worked for SG:C2C, but too much of this stuff gets old. But it's still light years better than the original "Sealab 2020" series they reworked it from. HB at its laziest.
"Aquateen Hunger Force" has it's moments but is the only one of the other comedy series I can say I enjoy. I hated "The Oblongs" on The WB, and hate it more in reruns, I think I'm allergic to Will Farrell.
I love "Inuyasha", especially as the story gets more involved and dramatic. I just wish they'd get more episodes over here, that cliffhanger where they're fighting the wolf guy with the three jewel shards is killing me.
"Trigun" started out great but became jumbled for me as it went on and replaced most of the comedy with the pathos and melodrama of the story arc of trying to stop Knives. I loved the first six or so episodes. Fantastic action/comedy anime, but it goes downhill further on.
I bought the "Cowboy Bebop" series since I loved it so much, I never could get into "Reign", "Lupin" is cute but I wonder how much the translation and dubbing have gone off-course from the original.
I rented a "Lupin" epsidode a few years ago and didn't really care for it. What I like about anime is the high quality visual and if you are going to shirk on that, then the story or characters need to touch me. Lupin never did. (nor did I ever like Dragonball Z). "Reign" looked pretty cool plotwise, but the character drawings always seemed a bit weird to me; reminded me a lot of "Aeon Flux". I can't stand the new "X-Men: Evolution" but both Futurama and Coyboy Bebop I like and catch when I can. The few martial-arts animes they have on now (the demon looking for the crystal pieces and the guy with the reverse blade) I think are pretty cool when I can catch them
OK... what does this have to do with bad movies?
Well....Sealab 2020 was bad T.V., and the update is a vast improvment....does that work?
Dragonballz never works for me. Endless posturing before mindless fighting, and its enters my list of bad Anime.
Bad...bad Anime! No audience!
As for good Anime...watched Spirited Away this week, on the Library dvd.
How many synonims for awesome are there?

Thats because they are both creations of Peter Chung who also has an episode on the Animatrix . I woke up late at night one time while Reign was on and i thought i was having a nightmare, though upon watching it again the show wasnt scary in the least

I kinda figuerd they were from the same person, so heavily stylized like that.
I just can't get into anime, no matter how hard I try. I don't know what it is, it just isn't my thing.

I agree, it is poorly drawn and I dislike how they feel we have to see the Men as total kids. Hwever, it is much better than the Justice League series and the story line is pretty well done too.

You are referring to Inuyasha, a great show that I suggest you watch more of

Do you think they will ever put the dubbed versions on DVD???
Also, you didnt tell us what you thought of Home Movies
"Home Movies" is the one that the early episodes were in "Squiggle-vision", right? Squiggle-vision irritates and distracts me, it seems a cheesy like a way of giving the impression of movement even when it's not needed. I hated "Dr. Katz" for the same reason. Maybe I'm just used to the cost saving measures of some anime with limited movement, where so many scenes have little more than the mouths moving. I hate stuff like "Dragonball" and its sequels and the various "BeyBlade" and "Yu-Gi-Oh!" type series, but I understand the reason for using the technique.
I couldn't get into the show itself too much, too "postmodern" for my tastes, I guess.
