I don't know if anyone else has seen it....For the life of me I can't remember the name. I don't even know if it qualifies as "anime". It's an Japaneese animated movie that deals with the atomic bombs that were dropped on Japan through the eyes of a Japaneese boy and it shows what happens to him and his family. I remember it being a really sad and depressing movie as it pulled no punches. Very touching. It had a unique title but for the life of me, I can't remember it. Anyone else seen it?
Graveyard of the Fireflies.
It's some of the best, and saddest stuff Anime has to offer.
BTW - The movie centers around the firebombing campeigns that took place all over Japan, rather than the A-bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Hmmm...I think we are thinking of different movies. Because I remember definately that the movie deals with the affects of radiation after the atomic bombs were dropped. It had a really wierd title too....Something like "Gin" or "Gen" was in the title.
The movie you are thinking of is "Barefoot Gen". There is a review at http://www.animeondvd.com/reviews2/disc_reviews/188.php (http://www.animeondvd.com/reviews2/disc_reviews/188.php)
Be sure to check out "Grave of the Fireflies" anyway though.
