whats the big deal with exclamation points? most of the time i dont want to be taken seriously, assface! when i DO! i DONT! OVERUSE! EX! CLA! MA! TION! POINTS!!!!! personally, i think chronic misspellings (AHEM!) are a lot more annoying than constant !!!!!s! and i could easily point them out at any time from anyone but i dont because its RUDE and i realize that most of the time when someone misspells something, its not just a typo, it's because they CAN'T spell and that IS a shortcoming. i know the proper use of a ! and i choose to use it as i please! ! is the best punctuation mark ever and i will continue to use it as i please until my poo's look like !s proper grammar and punctuation are lame and for corporate letters and e-mails WHICH I WRITE ALL DAMN DAY! i dont care to try and constantly show off my extensive writing and vocabulary skills because I think it makes people look like fat egotistical nerds that pay WAY too much attention to detail on a MESSAGE BOARD! and its kind of a slap in the face to the millions of people who really have a hard time spelling and using proper grammar. also, the few times i do post, they are short, sweet and to the point and no one HAS to read them if they don't want to! and i dont consider it a shortcoming! im not blind OR A DUMB BLONDE IM NOT EVEN BLONDE! i am completely aware that i overuse !s! and i dont care, if i did i wouldnt do it! but fine! if its THAT annoying i just wont say anything anymore!

I can't say her posts have ever bothered me. Some people take a conversational tone and don't care about proper grammar and punctuation. If it's a problem, I just don't bother reading them. Case closed.
However, I do think it was rude to expose your opinion of her posts in public. Her email is available in her profile. I think a more tactful, subtle, and more tasteful way would have been to email her privately, if this was such an issue to you. That's fine if you really believe comments like "YOU SOUND LIKE A DUMB BLONDE IN EVERY POST YOU MAKE!!!!" However, putting that out in public is very rude in my opinion.

I'd have to say that I agree that the overuse of exclamation points is annoying, but I've never had a problem with Paquita's posts. I'm actually more annoyed by the overuse of CAPITALIZATION to EMPHASIZE every second WORD, and the incessant use of the "..." at inappropriate times. I can't even guess what that's about.
Spelling and grammar are a big annoyance for me too, and I run into stuff all the time that I simply can't finish reading, because of the errors. It's really kind of disturbing, because some of it comes from people who claim to be writers. However, on this board, there are a few people who, although they might not spell very well, have a lot of valuable things to say. In those cases, I try to just read, and ignore the errors. Besides, I think it's rude to single someone out for criticism in a situation like this, especially without any real provocation. Paquita did nothing to deserve that, and I think it's a bit presumptuous for Ash to take it upon himself to "educate" other people on this board, many of whom are older and wiser than himself.

I agree that Ash was out of line. Now I do find bad grammar & punctuation annoying (hell I go back and rewrite even on bbses), but I figured Paquita's doing a more "stream of consiousness" writing, which is acceptable (or are we to go after Jack Kerouac and e.e. cummings as well?). Besides this is informal and I'm not going to get worked up over people mixing up their and there.
I don't think you can single any one person out here for grammar lessons. Paquita's style is unique -- kinda cute IMO, and if it bugs you, don't read her posts.
