I just saw that they are re-releasing this on DVD on August 19 (only $18.00 from Deep Discount DVD).
Now if they would hurry up and re-release DAWN OF THE DEAD . . .
WOW! any extras?!
Two discs worth of them. Including original screenplay, behind the scenes footage, documentaries, stills, interviews, two separate commentaries and a partridge in a pear tree.
Anchor Bay Entertainment is still working on their three-disk DVD set of DAWN OF THE DEAD, which will contain the Theatrical Cut (which is Romero's preferred version), the Extended Cut, and the European Theatrical Cut under the title ZOMBIE!
Although I love Romero's films, Day never did much for me. I currently have the last DVD issue of this flick which includes a little bit of interesting behind the scenes footage.
Don't care about the flick enough to actually want to spend the money on an upgraded version.
As for the Dawn DVD, is there going to be a regular DVD release as well? I don't much care for the directors cut of the film (first version I saw, hated it) nor do I care about the Zombie version.

I'm not a big fan of this movie either. But I haven't seen it in at least 10 or 12 years, so I'm looking forward to seeing it again. Plus, I want to have the entire series of Romero's "living dead" movies, so I intend to buy it.
I'll probably pass, but I can't wait for the 3-disc DAWN collection, mainly because of the inclusion of the European cut.
The Cannes Festival version (incorrectly labeled the Director's Cut) and the original theatrical cut both will be released in single disc sets.
