Title: Mothra - Enemy of Man?
Post by: Cullen on July 20, 2003, 04:23:52 PM
New word on the Godzilla front on the latest:  Godzilla X Mothra X Mechagodzilla (http://66.216.76.201/monsterzero/editorials/editorials.php?catID=Nws&subCatID=15&contentID=285).  Apparently the Winged Goddess doesn't care for the material used in building of Mechagodzilla, namely the bones of the first Godzilla.  She wants them removed and returned to the sea as of yesterday.  If not, She will no longer serve as protector against Godzilla the Younger.  In fact, She might even turn against man all together.

I was a bit leery of this new one at first, but this plot sounds more than a bit interesting to me.  Add to this a potential appearance of  Rarely Used Kaiju Kameba  (http://66.216.76.201/monsterzero/editorials/editorials.php?catID=Nws&subCatID=15&contentID=284) and I'm hooked.

...

Okay, that's a lie.  I was already hooked.  I've been hooked since I was 3.  I will always watch these silly things, even if the monsters were guys in face masks standing in front of a photo of a city, saying "Roar, roar, and roar some more."  In fact...

Thoughts?  Opinions?  Questions about my sanity?

Kameba's appearance will reportedly consist or nothing more than being a corpse on the beach, a victim of Godzilla. Supposedly its Toho's way of taking a shot at Gamera. Personally, if they really wanted to one up Gamera they'd actually make a Godzilla movie on par with them.

Personaly, i can't see it. Useing the skeleton, i mean. Whats the point? Use the DNA of a more tractable creature. Like a Doberman.....
I'd say Mothra has squashed a fair amount of Japanese, what with her undeveating persuit of the kidnapped faires. So, being uncareing of humans is not quite that far out of character.
