Title: Need Title of Film
Post by: Ash on August 09, 2003, 12:20:01 AM
Earlier I had bad heartburn and took a few drinks of Mylanta (milk of magnesia) straight from the bottle to relieve it.

My friend witnessed this and then mentioned a movie where one of the main characters drinks this stuff right from the bottle throughout the entire film.

I know I've seen it as well but neither of us could think of what movie it was and it's driving us nuts!

What film was it?

Kolchak's boss, Tony Vincenzo, keeps guzzling Mylanta straight from the bottle throughout the entire film (or it might be THE NIGHT STRANGLER...I forget which one.....but it's one of the two original Kolchak movies).

No...it can't be that one because I've never seen it.

It's a different film.

Are you sure, Ash? Because, if it's Mylanta/Maalox, it has to be one of the two Kolchak movies. I can't think of any other movie with a character hitting the antacid bottle, so to speak. :-)

I finally remembered which film it was!

"The Big Hit" starring Mark Wahlberg.

Also, in Dumb and Dumber, the mob guy that is sent to kill them, is always drinking the stuff.  He has a bad stomach and they kill him by putting a bunch of hot peppers on his burger.

don't they kill him because they unwittingly kill him by trying to save his life by giving him that stuff,[because of the chilli, he was choking or whatever]  but it's rat poison instead?

One of the coaches, played by Charles Durning, in "North Dallas Forty" is constantly seen chugging Pepto. But he's not a main character, although the gag gets used a lot in movies.
