Just bought two movies last night, am giving one away and the other is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.
House of 1000 corpses, sucked! I gave it away this morning. Fair idea, but gore should have a purpose. I don't care for movies that use gore and depravity as the engine of the movie . . . as an element yes, but not this (I submit Dead Alive as the ultimate example of over the top gore in an entertaining way, with out the inherant sadim os this movie). Entertainment value was too poor to be covered by the few good scenes.
Casa Royal, I thought this was great. I love David Niven and Peter Sellers and thought this was the best James Bond flick I'd ever seen. Bonus feature of a live broadcast of an old Peter Lory (as the bad guy) tv special (also Casa Royal) was great too.
Anyone else out there with thoughts on these?

I agree Rob Phillips HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES stunk. I just seen it last night. Really did not enjoy it.
Isn't CASA ROYAL also CASINO ROYAL?
I loved HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES. It reminded me of a lot of the drive-in movies of the 1970s, which I enjoy so much.
I haven't seen CASINO ROYALE in at least 20 years. I seem to remember that it was decent, but probably too long with a running time of well over 2 hours. I'm not a big David Niven fan, but I love Woody Allen and Peter Sellers.
You're right! It is Casino Royal!
My boss came in the office while I was type editing!
Oh Well!

Thats Ok Burgomaster. The cinamatography was vivid and alive, but the dialogue and characters were poor and meaningless in my opinion.
The parts that I did like were.
The arrival and tour of the museum
The girl running in the bunny suit
The girl coming out of the house of 1000 corpses and into the daylight.
