Hey ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES is on TCM right now. I can see the East Side Kids (Bowry Boys) act I believe thats Mugsy when he was younger. I wonder which came first?
James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart are in it also.
ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES came out when the Bowery Boys/East Side Kids were known as the Dead End Kids. Their first movie was called DEAD END, and Humphrey Bogart was in it in an early role.
ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES is one of my favorite movies. There is a semi-sequel to it called ANGELS WASH THEIR FACES, but it isn't as good.
Burgomaster they have been showing a Humphrey Bogart marathon on TCM all day today. I missed most of it. Been busy.
I remember in "Home Alone"...the kid put in the movie titled "Angels with Filthy Souls".
Does that movie really exist or did the filmmakers change the title on purpose?
Another interesting note . . . BIlly Halop, who played the leader of the DEAD END KIDS in ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES, also played Munson the taxi driver on several episodes of ALL IN THE FAMILY. He had white hair and glasses, but his voice was the same as when he was a teenager.
