ANDROMEDA STRAIN (1971) - This is an excellent film. I can't believe that I have never seen it till now. I thought it was going to be a slow much talked about film, but the film had style. Unique film techniques and atmosphere. The ending is kinda dull, but the movie has something special that will be memorable.
I agree. I try to catch the movie every time I see it's on. I love the scene where they all get "baked" and have all the ashes on them.....very futuristic for 1971.
I'm actually surprised that this one hasn't been remade. I mean, if a lame Planet of the Apes and scene-by-scene version of Psycho can be done, why not this one??
I've always liked this one, plus it's better than the book, which I quit since it's dull unreadable garbage. And I've read enough Michael Crichton books to know.
I like the refusal to go with the "Love intrest". Man, i hate that cliche!
Just professionals, doing a job that captures their imaginations, and holds them in a scientific detective story.
Works for me.
