Title: Monster Fest on AMC

Anybody checked out AMC's MonsterFest this year?  Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter, Billy the Kid VS Dracula, Frankenstein's Daughter, The Abdominal Snowman of the Himalayas, King Kong, Godzilla, The Giant Gila Monster, The Brain that Wouldn't Die---holy crap, Batman!  Finally AMC gets its head out of its butt, forget that Alien Resurection gets plenty of airplay and Halloween 3 is aired at all, otherwise this looks pretty damned good.

Title: To be blunt, for me......

....it's a waste of time because I have virtually every one of the films they're showing on video in one format or another, UNCUT and UNINTERRUPTED by commercials.

I don't even bother with America's Most Commercials any more. As an example of AMC's idiocy, they have a listing in their databse for "Roger Corman: The Phantom MENACE" (!)......Those dopes didn't even get it right....It's called "The Phantom EYE".

Stick with TCM...

Take it easy, man.  Not everyone has every B monster movie ever made.  It's cool that at least someone is willing to air them and a lot of people get into B movies accidentally by catching something on TV

The sad part is that before all local channels became network affiliates and stations started filling the late night schedule with infomercials for cooking products, you didn't need a special channel to find such movies. They popped up often on the weekends and late night.

And I don't get TCM.  It's part of the next tier (along with a bunch of the chick channels).

Most of these I saw on KSTW in tacoma way back in the early 70's when independant programming ruled.  Life was sweeter then.  Anyway, I too do not get TCM, nor do I own these films in any form or other, so I am looking forward to it.  Don't rain on my pathetic parade.

This is probably the weakest AMC MONSTERFEST since they started doing it. In fact, there isn't a single thing on that line-up that I'll tune in for.

And they really need to put a bullet in those HALLOWEEN movies. They show them every damn month anyway so what's the big deal about seeing them on Halloween itself?

Check out the synopsis for "Captain Kronos:  Vampire Hunter".  I may be wrong, as I've never seen it, but it sure doesn't sound like a movie about Jack Lemmon fighting hijackers.
