I managed to get out of the house this morning while the kids were in school, and my wife and I went to check out "The Rundown". Altogether not a bad popcorn flick. Still, it bothers me that EVERY SINGLE FIGHT SCENE had to go and pull that Matrix-styled, MTV school of filmmaking, slow motion crap when someone was punching someone else. Why can't anyone film a straight up fight scene with a couple of guys just beating the crap out of each other at regular speed? I guess it's not "hyperkinetic" enough for audiences. Or maybe I'm just getting too old to keep up.
The Rock did a surprisingly good job of playing the lead role rather than, you know...being The Rock.
