THE SCI-FI channel will be showing flicks such as:
Warlock
Puppetmaster
Psycho
The Frighteners
Waxwork
Exorcist 2 & 3
Wishmaster & Phantasm sequels
Not that I'll be tuning into that crappy channel.
The lineup looks pretty good this year...considering I'll never forget the time a few years back when absoultely NO station was showing any type of scary movie *at all*. I was so peeved.
That's a decent line-up. I haven't seen JESSE JAMES MEETS FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER or MONSTER FROM THE SURF since I was a kid.
I recently ordered CAPTAIN KRONOS: VAMPIRE HUNTER on DVD.
Thanks Susan. I'm going to print this post and put it on the refrigerator.
Definitely time to warm up the old vcr. Can't wait to see the Billy the Kid & Jesse James flicks.
Did you know that both Billy the Kid Vs. Dracula and Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter are directed by the same director.
Thanks, I'm interested in taping: Monster from the Surf (think it's also called the Beach Girls and the Monster if I remember), Billy the Kidd and Jesse James monster movies. Those are definitely the oddballs out of the bunch. Weird how b-movies fan think alike. If I'm not mistaken doesn't Monster from the Surf feature some band in a beach part? Anyone know who the band is? I remember seeing it on MST3k once, well that part. Wonder if it's a real band.
I think that was THE HORROR OF PARTY BEACH.
It looks like a repeat of last year, decent movies leading up to Halloween but the same crap they played last year on the day itself--Halloween sequels but not the original film.
Oh well, AMC has deteriorated so much in the past couple of years that I'm not that surprised. I wonder what's on TCM.
Last year the Encore action and mystery channels had some pretty good stuff too.
>>I wonder what's on TCM. <<
On halloween night it's a Frankenstein marathon
Frankenstein
The Bird of
The son of
..must be destroyed
I think that wednesday "Freaks" comes on, I wanna catch that again
"one of us..one of us.."
Why is it that when I posted a similar message about this same subject I was greeted with negativism?
It must be a hair thing . . . .
>On halloween night it's a Frankenstein marathon
>Frankenstein
>The Bird of
>The son of
>..must be destroyed
Hmm, I don't think I've ever seen The Bird of Frankenstein...
>>Hmm, I don't think I've ever seen The Bird of Frankenstein...<<
When I typo I really typo.
Remind me someday to tell you about my cat emissions test...
These are the ones that I haven't seen yet:
Pinata: Survival Island
Monster from the Surf
Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter
The The Funhouse
The Dunwich Horror
Billy the Kid Vs. Dracula
Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter
Most of them are playing at around 2 a.m.
My wife and I have been really disappointed across the board by the cable channels this October. I miss when many of them would play scary movies all month long, not just for the few days leading up to Halloween. It's like they aren't observing Halloween at all.
Yep jmc. We said the same thing the past couple nights. And I've been hoping for a total 24 Horror Channel someday. They have specialty channels for all the other genres except Horror. Even the Sci-Fi channel doesn't play the good old Sci-Fi ones
>And I've been hoping for a total 24 Horror Channel someday.
Actualy, I've heard that there is one. I forget where I read it, possible TV Guide...
I know that I don't get that channel JohnL. I think Showtime has something called Showtime Beyond and B-Movie channel has been showing all public domain type films. I don't know of any others.
HORROR CHANNEL (http://www.horrorchannel.com/hc1/)
Wow, just check out that Horror Channel Susan. It's going to be good. The start date is Oct. 2004.
Thanks for the Info.
It looks like a good line-up, as there are several films there I haven't seen and would like to see. Now, if I can only get my tv set to work . . .
As for "Billy the Kid vs. Dracula," which I have seen, and "Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter," which I have not seen, the director is the same for both films, William Beaudine. Who is regarded by the Medved Brothers, as one of the worst directors who ever worked in Hollywood.
But, you got to love a man whose nickname was "One Shot." Supposedly, because he supposedly never used more then one take for any scene in any of his films.
Sweet looking line up.I think im taking off of work those days so can can stay up and watch everyone of those movies.
Oh god Horror channel (drooling all over self) can't wait, must have, must go change my underware now.
While BEACH GIRLS AND THE MONSTER (or, as it is well known under the American International Pictures-TV release title MONSTER FROM THE SURF) and GODZILLA sounds interesting, I must say I am quite disappointed by the list.
And honestly, if only AMC would show THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED (1956), THE SHE CREATURE (1956), INVASION OF THE SAUCER MEN (1957), I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF (1957), and EARTH VS. THE SPIDER (1958) again I would pertain some interest (especially since MGM and AMC showed THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED in it's original 2.35:1 SuperScope) since I missed these titles. Hopefully, MGM is working on these for a DVD release.
Yea, I would much rather see the classic stuff from the 50's than the films they have scheduled.
