You know, Hollywood has been giving us alot of bulls*** movies for a couple of months like TOMB RAIDER, FREDDY GOT FINGERED, PEARL HARBOR, etc. These films stank to high heaven. But, SCARY MOVIE 2 takes the cake. It makes FREDDY GOT FINGERED look like SCHINDLERS LIST. And that is not a good thing.
Frankly, I was a complete dumbass to waste my $7.50 to see SCARY MOVIE 2. I didn't like the first one, so why go see the sequel? I guess it's because my friends said "it was better than the first one" or "it's better than the crap you watch". Sorry to say this, but I would rather watch a movie like THE RAVEN (1963) instead of SCARY MOVIE 2. And believe me, THE RAVEN is neiter crappy or bad but a good film unlike the material the Waynes Brothers dish out! So I plunk down my money and was disappointed. Well, I am here to warn you to not be a stupid ass like I was and waste your money on something else. But if you already spent it on SCARY MOVIE 2 and was disappointed, THEN YOU ARE SCREWED!
I am just glad that Marlon Brando did not cameo in SCARY MOVIE 2. But who took his place? Why, James Woods of course. He's a good actor, but why stoop so low James? Were you desperate for money like you were when you stared in ANY GIVEN SUNDAY? Or were you on the booze when you read the SCARY MOVIE 2 script and said "I'll take it! Now where is my check?"
As for the Waynes Brothers, I gave them a chance and they are just not funny at all! Period! They are not comedy legends, but they are comedy hacks. The potty humor and overexaggerated sex jokes are just NOT FUNNY! These jokes didn't make me laugh as a kid, and they certainly don't make me laugh at the age of 17 either. Basically, when the jokes run out of steam, the Waynes try to throw in some other joke that is off the wall idiocy. Are we supposed to think that a scene of a man wipping out his dick is considered to be humorous? It's nothing but a cheap gag that is more pornographic than funny. It is just an excuse to flash in front of the cameras and hope you will get a cheap laugh. I just hope the Waynes are not even allowed by a camera ever again.
Well, as the old saying goes "If I cut my finger, that's tragedy. But if a man falls down a sewer and dies, that is comedy".
But my old saying is better, "If you let the Waynes Brothers write and act in a comedy, that's tragedy. But if I murder the Waynes Brothers, that's comedy." Believe me, IT IS. Just try visulaizing then being killed in any fashion, and it will be funny? Go ahead, try it!
Questions or comments anyone? And I am sorry for the long and boring rant, but really?
Fangoria.com's review clued me in to this one, I haven't seen the first and probably won't see this (although seeing James Woods do the gross-out route for a few minutes is a mighty big temptation). Here's the review is you are at all interested.

Watching paint dry, grass grow, or waiting for a train or bus to run on time in the UK is better than those damnable movies - and cheaper.
I thought the Exorcist bit was funny, but I agree the rest of the movie sucked. The only Wayans Brother's film that I liked was Don't be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood. They lucked out on that one. It's just as stupid, but for some reason I found it funny. I watched Menace a second time and still found it funny. As I said though, they got lucky with that one. That film may have contributed to the success of Scary Movie. I dunno.
Did you mean Wayans brothers? The Waynes were all part of John Wayne's family. I would hate to think they were part of Scary Movie crap. It just might be funny to watch John Wayne whip out his dick in front of Maureen O'Hara though.
my preaching-to-the-converted rant:
...i read this somewhere (probably here) and it clicked for me...you CANNOT watch this movie (the first one) drunk...and i'll add--- EVEN if you are not really drunk...like no other movie i have ever encountered...i'd rather watch the seventh seal while drinking...some of the sight gags are ok (the hedge trimming comes to mind---NOTHING else does)...but even the actors creap you out.
the movie erases your memory of having seen it---WHILE you are watching it...and this is probably a good thing...
i have done my fair share of drinking and movie watching and this movie stands alone as an imcomprehensible EVIL piece of crap...i mean, some movies are so bad you have to do something to your rational brain to stand them...and others are good already if not better if drinking (EVIL DEAD 2, friday, road trip, etc.)...
this movie isn't good bad...or even bad bad good bad...it's michael jackson's bad bad...like even if you had bought that album you'd throw it away at night so no one would no you ever had it...but still a part of you later goes---"gee, i don't really remember it---maybe it wasn't really that bad"...and so maybe like me you watch it on another occasion and it is EVEN WORSE than you DIDN'T remember...
(i'm gonna git you sucka is the only movie a wayans ever put out that works for me at all on any level...it's dated and slow but at the least it has some memorable and funny bits...like "OG" (over-gold) and the pimps aquarium shoes...)
"Scary Movie 2" just tried too hard to be "Scary Movie." Hollywood horror parodies suck. "Basket Case," "The Toxic Avenger," "Frankenhooker," AND "Decampitated" were all great horror-parodies, Hollywood just rips off the indies. Jack Vilante must die!

I quite liked Scary Movie 2, it made me laugh, just my interest kinda slows down towards the end when the Charlie's Angels stuff starts to kick in. My least favourite of the Scary Movies was #4.

What the hell?
They should really keep tighter security at the asylum where they house the Zardoz lunatics.

I dink u juz be hatin b-cuz you aint famous.
Maybe you had to see SCARY MOVIE 2 to understand?
I quite liked the first 2 Scary Movies myself. 3 was decent, if only cause of Leslie Nielsen.

That's what happens when you dink instead of think.
I like Scary Movie 1, it had me in stitches.
But I agree with you on Scary Movie 2 - it was crap. I thought the intial exorcist scene was funny, but that's it. I usually like the Wayans Bros, but they should have given this one a wide berth. It would have been funnier with the Airplane writers doing it. Or even the Police Academy guys.
But I do think Major Payne is funny.
I thought Scary Movie 2 was the best one of them all!
I remember going to see it in the theater back in 2001 like it was yesterday.
My girlfriend and I smoked a huge joint in my car in the theater parking lot before the movie started.
And once the movie started, we had tears in our eyes from laughing so hard! :bouncegiggle:
We found it amusing that no one else in the theater was laughing except us. But then again, there were only like 10-15 people there.
I remember people actually turning around in their seats to look at us.
How can you not love some of these scenes?

To this day, I can still watch it and laugh every time. (even while not stoned)
In my opinion, the Scary Movie franchise went way downhill after the Wayans left it.
This is the only one of the franchise I have seen, and it turned me off on seeing any more. Over the top gross and NOT funny!

Major Payne is downright hilarious. I ordered it on pay per view years ago, and my friend and I cracked up. We were rolling in stitches during the "little engine that could/Vietnam" story.
