Can we assume you mean the version with the theme song by Queen? If so, it has no lack of B-Elements. Hoo,boy, does it ever! He he he! Ah, yes. Just the freakin' set design alone, and Max Von S. as Ming the extreamly unforgiving. Brian Blessed alone make it a quality B experiance. Steals his scenes by shear lung power alone! The Hawkmen.....do they use porta-johns hung from ballones? Do Hawkwomen go for the guys with the biggest "Wingspan", if ya' know what i mean, and i think you do......and do Incontinent Hawkmen give new meaning to the phrase "Look out below!"? These and other things alone make for a movie with real cheese, not that nasty velveeta stuff ya' get in a movie of the week.
Am I the only one who remembers Kill and Kill Again? This movie, along with Flash Gordon, The Black Hole, Treasure of the Four Crowns, and Superfuzz used to play repeatedly on HBO in the early 80's. Flash Gordon is a classic, but don't forget Superfuzz and Treasure of the Four Crowns. I can do without the Black Hole, but even that film has it's moments for me. If you like all the wild sets from Flash Gordon, check out Barbarella and Danger Diabolik!
Except for the yummy actress playing Ming's daughter Flash Gordon was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Way too camp for me.
Utter rubbish - camp as hell, and please don't mention Mercury...damn, I just did. Flesh Gordon is a genuinely bizarro fillum.
I just seen this on TV a month or two ago for the first time and I loved it. Great fun film. It has it all.
Mr. Flange - did you ever see (or more accurately, hear) "Foghorn" Blessed in the first series of "Blackadder"? If not, and you get the chance to see/hear it, I suggest an investment in some industrial ear-plugs. Did you know he has actually climbed Mount Everest? - no-one else survived - his big gob caused too many avalanches.
Hah! I have seen Blackadder! Blessed is blessed with a voice that could be regestered as a deadly wepon. A "Sonic Disruptor" i believe.

I really like Fash Gordon it's a good sci-fi movie specially with the woman who played the princess and Melody Anderson who played Dale Arden. I also really like the theme song by Queen fantasic!!!
I forgot about Ming's righthand man getting killed on the spikes with his eyes coming out that was a really cool part of the movie.
