Title: japan gets bloodier version of kill bill
Post by: mr. henry on October 13, 2003, 09:28:54 AM
oops, i meant for this to be in the kill bill thread from ashthecat...

the only bad thing about kill bill is that the Japan market is getting a different version. the House of Blue Leaves fight sequence is in color in japan and there is some added footage that would have gotten the movie an nc-17 here.

i read this in an interview with terrantino in the chicago tribune.

Figures.

Actually, my first reaction was "Bloodier?  How the hell's that possible?"

Then, about a half dozen ways popped into my head.

I'm probably a very sick man...

That's not as much a surprise as Tarantino being able to get away with putting so much gore into that mere suequence, and the MPAA allowing him to release the film as uncut as it is.
Splendid movie,BTW:definitely my favorite of the year(even saw that House of Blue Leaves sequence twice on the very same day, thanks to the suckiness of the God-awful "House of the Dead").

Hopefully the deleted scenes will be on the DVD!

"Hopefully the deleted scenes will be on the DVD!"

or even better, they release it kinda like the fellowship of the ring extended dvd and include the deleted scenes in the actual movie, so that its seamless and you don't have to worry about the annoying stop/start of watching deleted scenes seperately

or just release two versions

either way
