Some one quoted a line of plot point from "Raiders of the lost ark"
"An army the carries the Ark before it is invincable"
Uh, huh.....
Excuse me....
This is an example of reeeealy bad planning!
An ancient religious relic....a JEWISH relic....is to go before the german army, evidently to ensure that armys victory....
Ah, Beloc....ya wanna might conciter, that if the Ark does contain power...its power that comes from God...who might conciter your whole plan, oh, say evil....well, we KNOW how God felt about his plan...can you say "Dammed bad plan"?
Sooooo....what other evil scemes have you found, that are built on a pillar of sand, so to speak...?
Hey...this should be a lesson to all you eviloverlord wanna bee's out there....Plan ahead!

Well, I don't suppose the Nazis thought what they were doing was evil. Obviously, God thought otherwise. Just the same, you'd think the Germans would have been more wary of a Hebrew relic.
For stupid plots, it's hard to beat Anaconda.
You did what to who? So your could what? Huh? Whouldn't it have been easier just to go yourself?
I was the one with that quote.
I put it there just 'cause it sounds cool.

Hm...how about any movie where the army tries to make a killing machine monster and it gets loose? I just watched Project: Metalbeast (kickass monster, suckass movie) again tonight. Why the hell would you make synthetically engineered skin grafts out of METAL?
Brother R
Any movie in which the villain's plan for world domination involves tricking the superpowers into a nuclear conflict that will likely live very little to rule.
Ashthecat! Thats where i read it. Thank you.
Yep. "Blow up the world", and i'll be king! Unless of corse, a missle takes a wrong turn, and you get nuked too.
I HATE liveing wepons! Or self guideing killer robots.
Bio wepons ALWAYS develoup their own agenda. Pirana, Pirana 2, Watchers....ya wanna list?
Give me a suit of power armor, with a little bitty AI that can run the suit, and leave all the decisions to me. Kinda like in Battletech.
Mecha yes, biological killing machines, no.
How about recreating carnivorous dinosaurs? Not cute little placid plant eaters, but vicious ravinous flesh eaters, yeah, that'll be perfect for a family fun park.
Spoilers ahoy!

Here be spoilers!
- one of the glaring plot problems in "LXG" is that the evil mastermind is planning to export his anachronistic, death-dealing machinery from his industrial plant, hidden in the wilds of Mongolia, to the great states of Europe.
That's Mongolia. Trackless wilderness; no roads; no railways; an arctic wasteland untouched by human hand (in the LXG universe, anyway). How the hell is he going to get anything to anyone? What if the Russians take an interest? Would the Chinese allow such goings-on? How does he get the fuel and raw materials to the Sinister Fortress in the first place?
As to ASH's orginal questions, I really have to just turn much of my theological brain off when movies have religious trapsings. ASH prety weel identifies the problem, they tend to treate the Judeo-Christian God in a way that is highly mechanistic, which is totally unlike his behavior in that tradition
My vote has to go to "Batman" (1966). The one plot by the associated bad guys is completely absurd. I think that it involved Batman being flung (by a spring-loaded floor tile) out a window and into the grip of a killer octopus rigged with mines.
Or something like that.
Actually the plot to Batman is absurd, but the tv series it was based on was also totally absurd, so that sort of negates any negative comments about it . Or something like that.
Or something like that.
That was pretty much it...although the basic premise of converting all the world leaders to dust with a dehydrator was not exactly that clever to begin with
