Hugh Grant was one of those actors who, for a very long time, I seriously disliked.
You couldn't have paid me to watch a film he starred in.
I could never put my finger on why I hated him...I just did.
After seeing "About A Boy" and a few of his other films that slipped through the cracks for me recently, I think I might have changed my mind.
The guy is actually starting to grow on me.
And the funny thing is I can't put my finger on why I'm actually starting to think that he's a good actor!
I'm positive it's the roles he chooses to play.
I do admit that I now like him as an actor.
I thought he was excellent in "Extreme Measures" because I'm a huge Michael Palmer fan (he wrote the book) & I'm a sucker for medical thrillers & ER.
What do you think?
Do you like Grant or do you hate him?
What are your reasons for liking or hating him?

I can't get over the whole hooker thing and the way this guy, who is worth a boatload of cash, disses Liz Hurley for some street whore. Call me a prude (YOU'RE A PRUDE!!), but I lost a lot of respect for the dude.
***Hey, a rhyme!***
I agree with Ash on this one. I used to hate Hugh Grant. I never knew why, just disliked his films.
I saw About A Boy when it first came out on video, and I thought it was fantastic. Grant was perfect for the film. Since then, I've gone back and watched some of his older films (9 Months, etc). It seems I was missing out on some great talent.
about a boy...great flick.
notting hill...good
four weddings and a funeral..captures that best man/wedding feeling. i really like this one.
and wasn't he in The Englishman who went up a hill and came down a Mountain?...that was good too.
but that crap he was out in a couple years ago with that sandra bullock was the worst flick i'd seen in years. and that's saying a lot.
I used to hate him, but now I think he's okay. I don't rush out to see his movies or anything, but I do own a few of his movies on DVD (FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL, ABOUT A BOY, and a couple of others).
He starred in Lair of the White Worm! Has he done anything since?
I gotta agree with Onionhead about the hooker; if you've got a hot babe, but she's halfway around the world and you need a blowjob right now, use a discrete "escort" service like Charlie Sheen, not a risky streetwalker. That's why you've got a boatload of cash. In terms of stupidity, it ranks right there with Jerry Springer paying for hookers with checks.
Oy.
He's an actor. I don't know him personally, I usually haven't cared for his characters (Notting Hill, 9 Months) but I've not really seen him much as an individual so I don't like or dislike him
He stars in the kind of movies I usually don't watch, so I don't have much of an opinion on him.
Saw BITTER MOON a while ago though, and he was fairly good in that although he didn't really do much.
Good actor, iffy human being.nuff said.
Was it a transexual hooker?
I think the transexual hooker was Danny Bonaduce's. Now there's a guy for a like/hate thread.
