When ASHTHECAT started his "Our Screenames" topic I wanted to follow with a "Our Quotes" topic. Some quotes are REALLY obvious, like the ones from movies that are well known, but some are down right weird (I like to think of mine as one of them) My "-the first rule of fat club-" quote is from a parody of "Fight Club" There was this t.v. show ("Home Movies") where there is a clip from a movie where a fat person is surrounded by other fat people and he says "the first rule of the fat club is you don't talk about the first rule of the fat club...the second rule is...uh wait." I changed the quote a littie to "-the first rule of fat club-" and that's my quote.
I always change my quote.
For me to keep the same quote day in & day out is unthinkable.
I must have constant change otherwise things become stagnant.
I change mine anywhere from every 2 weeks to once or twice a week....usually depends on what movies I watch.
DOn't remember exactly where I got it from but it is a play on GI JOe's public service announcements. The ones where The Joes stop kids from setting the house on fire and what not. I always wondered what the other half of the battle was and I saw the quote somewhere on the internet and found it funny so I use it, until I find something new.
Quotes? I don't got no stinkin' quotes. I don't need no stinkin' quotes.
Sorry, slow day at work.
I hate rapists and think they should be destroyed in the most horrible ways, and it just so happens that Strapping Young Lad wrote a song about that, so there's one explained.
The other one was something Rob Zombie said in a VH1 interview a while back and I thought it pretty much rang true for all us b-movie fans.

When I actually login, my profile uses
"Going places unmapped, to do things unplanned, to people unsuspecting"
This was a line I made up about ten years ago.
A few other slogans directly related to my work as a software developer were:
"Using Yesterday's Technology to solve Tomorrow's Problems" and
"Building Tomorrow's Obsolete Systems, Today"
I just loved this movie - it pokes fun at all the right aspects of kiddie shows, plus Ed Norton saying this line cracks me up every time I hear it.
My quote is from Water's Edge by Seven Mary Three (obvious). Love the lyrics in this one. It's about a guy who sees a murder happen, but is too scared to stop it and too scared to tell anyone he was a witness to it.
One of the best alt-rock songs I've heard in a long time, and 7Mary3 rules all live.
Full Lyrics:
"don't go there" I heard her say.
"you can't stomach what you're going to see"
It's down there, by the water's edge
wasted and bloated and waiting for someone else
funny how, these little things come about
when you're tied to the teeth and mouth
no sound or fury, no shot of pain
there was no real reason, no gain
I can't go down to the water's edge
I didn't do it... I saw who did it
Don't go down to the water's edge
they did it once and they can do it again
it ain't no secret to me
how she got there down by the stream
I'd seen her a minute before the van pulled up and opened
the door (took all my love)
but I can't say a single word
about what I saw of her
her killers...they got their friends
in familiar places, I tell you man
this ain't no f**king game
and I'm feeling so ashamed
because I didn't do anything
I didn' do a thing
I swear

My quote comes from a piece of advice that a friend of mine used to give me when we would go out drinking late into the night and then I would have to go home and explain to my wife where I had been and why I didn't call her.
The quote that I got right now was acually a choice I picked from Full Metal Jacket,
both from Lee Ermery. It was either that, which you see below, or the other one which involves sexual intercourse in the cranium section via the eye socket.

Bulls**t, I still can't hear you, sound off like you got a pair.
My vote for favorite quote goes to Flangepart It always gives me a kick to read it.
"Now, unless anyone else wants to tell me his or her life story, can we shoot the big gun!?" - Emperior Zurg.
My quote "I'm your huckleberry" is from the movie TOMBSTONE. It kinda means "If your looking to fight someone. Try me". Nothing I can't stand more than some puke or turd knocking someone else when they are in fact just as pathetic or worse. Especially management or any higher up. It's kinda like a challenge to me.
My favorite movie title is "Any Gun Can Play". Even if I haven't seen the film I love that title.
"Adios, Satipo" is obvious--Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Hassenpfeffer line is from a Bugs Bunny cartoon, in which Bugs is Royal chef to a Charles Laughton-like king who is demanding variety in his diet.
Onionhead - I find myself repeating "Hassenpfeffer! Give me my Hassenpfeffer!" after reading many of your post.
Thanks,Scott. I love that movie. Too bad Tim Allen let the voice gig lapse for Buzz Lightyear.
Lots of good lines, gang. Its nice to be amongst folks who appreciate good diologue.
Other possable quotes : "Their not evil.their just ..stupid."( Spaced Invaders.)
"One weekend a month my ass!"-Crow.(Beginning of the end.)
"Its all in the reflexes." (BTiLC).
"I trained it, I'm going to eat it"
"Longerie, do you remember longerie?"
- Gyrocopter Pilot in "Road Warrior"
Yeah, I know that's not how you spell it but that's how he said it.

Here's a website that details the conversation in Latin between Johnny Ringo and Doc Holliday - good to have for any Tombstone fan.

I heard my quote while watching "The Lowdown" which was about the behind scences of Stargate SG-1.

Seven years on MacGyver and you cannot figure this out?
Speaking of actors switching roles, every time I see "Enterprise" I keep expecting the Captain to say "Oh..Boy" at some point
I've changed mine only a few times in the last two years or so. The current one is one of the in-jokes from "Futurama" (they used to parody the "In Stereo where available" line on the opening of every episode). Previous ones where a short paragraph from Richard Matheson's "I am legend" (that's where I took my nickname from) and "Live from the UdL computer room", because that was the place where I used to surf the web in the past.
I'm considering a couple of new quotes, one consisting of more "Futurama" quotes or another one completely made up. I'll see.
Jamtoy : I love that line! The look on Anderson's face while she reamd his was histerical. Stargate ain't perfect, but its fun, and thats all i want anymore.
The Einstein quote I have up is pretty self explanatory. I actually think the human race is getting stupider by the hour. Some days I just can't watch the news.
Here are a few of his other good lines:
"The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education."
"If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut."
"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one."
"The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax."
Gee, this guy must of been pretty smart.
Mark Twain had some good ones along those line trek_geezer.
