I'm thinking about asking for this movie for christmas I remeber there was a topic about this a while ago.
Unfortunatly Dave, Battle Royale isn't in print in the US as of yet. I do have a copy of it, but it is less than legal.
You can buy it through Video Mayhem's website. They specialize in foreign (mostly Asian) action/horror/adult imports. They have more than 1 version. I got the director's cut. It took about 2 weeks to arrive after I ordered it. Be careful when you order movies from them. Some DVDs are not Region 1, others are in foreign languages with no dubbing or subtitles, some are PAL instead of NTSC, etc. And they won't let you return a DVD if you buy the wrong format (only if it is defective).
By the way, the web address is:

Oh Ok,,,Skaboi said his copy is less than legal, did he buy it from Video Mayhem or some other source, because I getting nervous just thinking about ordering something that's illegal. Thanks to Burgomaster.
I don't think it's illegal. I got my copy (director's cut with an extra DVD of bonus material) in a three pack with Versus (director's cut) and Suicide Circle off an ebay merchant for $40 (I did a "Buy It Now" option rather than bidding). The DVDs were Region 0, so all was cool. The box art is in Japanese, but the titles are in English, and you have the option for English subtitles in all the movies.
So I recommend ebay.
Yeah, less than legal.
I didn't buy it from any seller anything like that. I downloaded it.
"Not condoning pirating of course, just letting you know where I got it"
I know Andrew doesn't want us to talk about bootleg sites, but people who buy them aren't going to get in trouble or anything. That's how I got my VHS copy...of course, it doesn't look nearly as good. Sometimes you get what you pay for, but I've found the "grey market" useful for seeing films that I can't see otherwise without having to shell out a ton of cash.
