I know this may sound a little odd but I collect bootlegs of just about anything you can think of. (No, not condoms... get your mind outta the gutter. ; ) )
Movies, toys, models, posters, shades, junk, and more junk....
Anybody else need to confess?
I have a Rick Derringer/Edgar Winter bootleg that I bought fro Rick Derringer himself. Autographed it too. Apparently they did a show in Japan and the folks in Japan took the soundboard tapes and released them as an album. Rick and Edgar sued, got possesion of the tapes and all of the recordings and sold them at shows.

Wow, that was a pretty clever move on their part. sounds like a good score for you though! ; )
Yeah sure, many bootlegs video tapes and unreleased material on cd by different bands. I usually prefer to buy the originals but if something is so rare or just unreleased officially I'll go for bootlegs- I don't see how anyone could have a problem with that.
Well if anyone is interested in trading, I have a copy of Roger Corman's "Fantastic Four" on VHS.
I've got a fair amount of movies that have never been officially released on video, either through tape trading or eBay. I don't have many bootleg albums, but there's a record store right near my hometown that has an amazing amount of them; the "New Release" wall has maybe five official albums on it at any given time (especially surprising considering it's a pretty small town). Word has it there's a boot of Wild Man Fischer playing at MassArt that I'd kill for, but I haven't been able to snag a copy.
Yeah, I lost the legs to my old pair of boots a long time ago...
Haven't been able to find 'em since.
Boots aren't the same without legs.
Whenever I get bootlegs, it's when I'm tricked into believing that it's a legitimate copy by an eBay seller. I usually ask for a VHS, and check if the box images are from actual original video distributors (Media, Vestron, Key, etc.) and don't look "photoshopped"-an obvious sign of a bootlegger/DVD pirater.
Oh well.... sell them to me! : )
