THE DEVILS NIGHTMARE (1971) - Wow, did I like this Euro-shocker starring Erika Blanc. This is like one of those 70 drive-in films you seen but didn't check to see the title. Music, devil, Erika Blanc (and the rest), and the opening scene is quite shocking. This film comes under many titles, so when you look it up look under Erika Blanc. IMDB.com reviewers gave it mostly bad comments, but a couple liked it. Check it out as I know you won't be dissappointed. This one stays in my collection.
Thrill to the nonstop gluttony scene! (Really. He eats. Then he eats some more. Then, well, some more. Then...)
I bought this on DVD awhile back. I agree . . . it is a worthy part of my collection.
Good movie. Great concept of the seven deadly sins being used to punish people. Got it on the Diamond DVD as a double feature with MESSIAH OF EVIL, and liked DEVIL'S NIGHTMARE much better.
I wouldn't be surprised if the "gluttony" scene was an inspiration for "Mr. Creosote" in THE MEANING OF LIFE.
I didn't care for this one at all. A bit dull, and the ending did nothing for me.
There were worse ways to spend time, but I can't think of them off hand.
I got the BCI/Eclipse print of it. It's okay, but for some reason they put low-grade footage of gut-munching vampire women during the menu screen...maybe there was a mixup in the programming dept.?
I have the DVD that Redemption put out a few years ago. It is very good quality. All of my Jean Rollin films are also from Redemption.
This film just hit all the right spots for me.
All of those Redemption discs start out with the vampire chicks doing various things.
I get this movie mixed up with Nude For Satan. I vaguely remember liking it.
