Was just thinking the other day about how many movies I have seen throughout my life and found that I have seen about 750 films. Possibly up to 800 if I give credit for a few non-memorable films to the list. It's not that many considering I'm 39 and I seen 200 of them in just the past year.
I have no idea but it would probably be more than I could imagine.
At least 1000 probably.
Isnt this like asking a teenager how many times he masterbates a year? :P
Um, a whole lot? Bunches? Tons?
Borrowing a quote from Eileen Brennan in Jeepers Creepers--"More than a couple."
I don't even know how I would estimate that. It could be close to a couple of thousand, with all of the tv movies and so forth.
Seeing the Picture of Everything recently caused me to stop and think about the vast amount of pop culture I've assimilated in 32 years - movies, TV shows, songs. Staggering.
I'd guess I've seen at least 3,000 - 4,000.
I wouldn't even know where to start counting. My parents and I used to rent movies all the time, as far back as I can remember and probably even before that. It's gotta be in the quadruple digits, and that's not even counting multiple viewings of the same movie.

I sat down and actually wrote out a list (took me the better part of a pretty slow day)and I only got to 377. Maybe I haven't seen as many movies as some, but I have to wonder about any estimate over 1,000. I am 33 years old.
Let me see... I watched lots of stuff as a kid, but my movie-mania really started when I was 12, after I saw Tim Burton's "Batman" in 1989. Since then I've seen at least 4 movies per week. That would make (quick look to the Windows Calculator) about 2,912 movies since then. Of course, I've seen many of them more than once, but I can't figure out how to calculate that.

I am 39 years old and I own around 1,000 DVDs, so I can guarantee that I have seen that many. And there are many, many more that I have seen that I do NOT own. I'd say that my 3,000 - 4,000 guess is pretty accurate.

You own 1,000 DVDs??? Jesus, I hope you didn't pay full price for all of them! I stand corrected.
I have a friend who had over 5,000 music CDs. Me and my other friends got together after helping him move and laid it on the line: Never again.
Nine. And they are...
1)Howard the Duck
2) Tron
3) King Kong Lives
4) The Dirt Bike Kid
5) Porky's 2
6) Ghostbusters
7) House Party 3
8) They Still Call Me Bruce
9) Ghoulies 2
I'm really picky about what I watch...

Holy crap! If these 5,000 are all originals; then he should invest about a year consolidating tracks on a burner!
I've seen maybe 1,000 films. However, I do a little reviewing on the side so some movies get multiple viewings. I'm sure if I applied the same amount of time to my studies as I do to watching movies, I'd have a cure for Alzheimer's by now...
How many movies have you seen in your life? More then some, less then others. Being unemployed in 1980 and having nothing better to do, I sat down and calculated I had seen somewhere between 1200 and 1500 moives uo to that time. On the average of some three donzen if not more, movies each year, since then, the total number of movies I have, is somewhere between 2028 and 2328.
I guess this thread could lead to another thread titled "How many GOOD movies have you seen in your life."
In reviewing this thread, I believe that Evil Matt is the only one who has watched the 9 essential movies in film history. If you watch these 9, you will see everything you need to see. There is no benefit to watching any other movies.
Bless you, Matt.
Well, I can't say I agree with those movie picks of Evil Matt's, but I love his quote "Everything's funnier with monkeys." Cracks me up every time.
I should clarify, it's not like I watched those movies because I wanted to. Those 9 were the only films available to me that weren't expressionist Swedish Pilates instruction films. But I'm glad people like my quote.
And bless all of you, too.
I have too many, and have seen too few of them is all I will say
