Well, I stayed home today away from the crowds and went around the neighborhood giving out some presents to neighbors, playing chess with my daugther who beat me 2 out of 3 matches, and eating some favorite stuff. Besides that I caught some TV and here is what I seen:
SCROOGE (1935) - Tried watching this one today on TV, but couldn't get into it like the later two that are quite good. The 1935 version didn't even show the ghost of Marley and the first ghost to visit was a light shaped in human form. Not even sure who the stars were in this one. Turned the channel after about 20 minutes.
THE LONG SHIPS (1963) - A Viking film starring Richard Widmark, Sidney Poitier, and Russ Tamblyn (of West Side Story fame). It's not a bad film and more of a rollicking adventure film about Vikings and Muslims looking for a golden bell. A few good scenes were the finding and transport of the golden bell, the orgy brawl in the harem, and the almost execution of Widmark on to the spikes. Other than that the film was kinda like a comedy. Widmark actually looks relaxed in this one.
QUIGLEY DOWN UNDER (1990) - This Aussie/Western starring Tom Selleck was a little interesting, but I couldn't watch the whole thing. Just don't like Tom Selleck movies/shows. The female lead was interesting.
LEAVE IT TO BEAVER - TV Land plays this show alot. One of my favorite all time
TV shows. This episode was the one were Beaver gets caught up being kind to a homeless person and he helps himself to a bath and the Beavers fathers suit. Then of course the parents come home. This is one of those later episodes were the boys are getting bigger and Wally has a car.
Sorry, about the Richard Widmark comment. I mistook him for Sterling Hayden. By the way Widmark is 90 years old.
I also watched "Quigley Down Under".
I had never saw it before and I agree, it was ok but nothing spectacular.
Was an easy way to kill a couple of hours.
I also caught "The Tuxedo" for the first time. I found it to be quite enjoyable.
I've always been a big Jackie Chan fan....that and I can't seem to take my eyes off of Jennifer Love Hewitt....that girl is smokin hot!
Oh, by the way I found this on HotorNot.com:

That has to be her. I don't know if someone else put it up there or Jennifer herself did but it was a suprise to see it there!
I gave her a 10.
I have seen Quiggly many a time. I like Tom Selleck - ever since Magnum, PI. I thought Quiggly was pretty neat. The power of the long rifle was well demonstrated. I especially enjoyed the final shoot out between Tom and Allen Rickman. He makes such a neat villian.
QUIGLEY DOWN UNDER (1990) - The female lead was interesting.
Laura San Giacomo? I just saw her in a video a few weeks ago I picked up from a flea market. "The Apocalypse" where she plays a shakespeare-quoting computer programmer who hijacks a spaceship carrying an explosive cargo and sets in on a collision course for earth. Also starred Sandra Bernhard (I'll probably do a mini-review shortly)
Other than that, I watched parts of "It's a Wonderful Life" last night,. as well as the early nineties Full Moon film "Crash And Burn" with a cover that promises giant mechas but doesn't really deliver, and Full Moon semi-regular Megan Ward. (another mini-review for that, I suppose)
Grumpy Guy is the long gun and the buffalo gun the same thing? It was used well in VALDEZ IS COMING.

That's a shame, his final line to Rickman is the best!

I thought what scenes there were of the mech were well done. I wish someone would make a serious giant robot movie. Both Robotjox (still like "Robojox" better) and Robot Wars weren't all that great.
