Title: Professional Wrestling
Post by: Scott on December 30, 2003, 01:39:51 AM
Anyone see WWE lately? I watched the last match with Shawn Micheals and HHH for the World Title. Great match as Shawn Micheals did good and HHH was seen blading on camera twice during the match. What I really wanted to comment on was how the the show has put a new microphone near the ring to give you that old familiar sound of the mat crashing with every stomp and punch like in the good old days of wrestling. This really gives the match an added edge. Going back to the basics of ring entrance, sound, new characters, return of wresters, and basic chain wrestling and brawls. They also need to change the shows look. Before they taped from a TV studio and the effect was much better than the big arena stuff.

This is the first match I've really watched with interest in a couple years. Hope they continue and bring back some the small time feel.

So THAT'S what you look like Nick!

I'll scrap with you anytime you want!
Hehe!
I see from the photos section that skinny guy Fire beat you.....how the hell did that happen?

It's always weird to see what someone looks like for the first time.
I pictured you as some skinny nerdy kid.
LOL!
Seriously I did!

I'm also a huge fan of pro wrestling.

If I'm ever in Milwaukee...which isn't that far away as I'm in Iowa...maybe we can slam each other around on the mat for a bit.
I'm 5'9...205 lbs
Built like a brick s**thouse....Hehe!

Maybe if I'm lucky I can get Brother R. to join in on a tag team match!
He's about 6 foot....and I'm guessing about 130-150 lbs.

Whaddaya say Brother R.?

I took a few "tough guy pics" of myself tonight after visiting the wrestling website you're involved in.(12-30-03)
I couldn't resist!

Here I am:  (and YES...my head is shaved!  Looks better that way)
Watch it as a slideshow...it looks the coolest...each pic fades into the next.

Whaddaya think?

Look tough enough for ya Nick?

Wow, how about that. Wyckednick that's far out. I've been a fan of the "King of Sports" since 1979 and remember watching it on a rare occasions late at night in the mid-70's. I remember you post earlier about most painful moments. Ouch ! Hope your feeling better these days.

ASHTHECAT you would definately fit in with that group. Wyckednick give the dude a shot. Let him come up your way and tryout. Cool photos ASH ! You have the heart and look, next you'll have to see if you can take the bumps. Go for it ASH ! Being in that business though you know your going to have a major injury at some point.

I'm against the high risk stuff though and I don't think it is necessary to create a solid show. I'm a bit brittle at 5"11 and 180 lbs. I'd have to come in as Bill Gates manager extrodinare. : ) Hey ASHTHECAT I'll be your manager.

If I were bigger I'd be a more methodical type wrestler like GREG "THE HAMMER" VALENTINE. I wouldn't care about winning just the impression of creating alot of pain on an opponent. Stalking and hunting them down in the ring. There is a gimmick for you Wickednick if the promoter will allow you to sell the character. Bring in ASHTHECAT for your opponent after you train him and set up some great matches. Well, good luck and keep me up to date.

BRING IT ON!!!! WYCKED SMASH ASH!!! AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
NO AFRAID OF LITTLE ASH!
Hehe.
Nice pics Ash, you definitely got the look.In one of the pictures you looked just like Kane.If you want to come up here sometime that would be great. We could always use more people at the shows we don't get as many as we want.
As for the that skinny s**t Fire, I whooped his ass in a three way match with Maverick.Won the Extreme Championship for a while too.

The overall state of wrestling has declined greatly since ECW went bankrupt and WCW was bought by Vinnie. Oh well. At least Ring Of Honor is keeping it awesome with logical storylines and GREAT wrestling.

Seriously. No company produces MOTY (Match Of The Year) candidates as frequently as Ring Of Honor does. The promotion has filled the niche of "people that want WRESTLING, not SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT," and is the biggest success on the independent circuit since ECW changed its initials to standing for "Eastern Championship Wrestling" to "EXTREME Championship Wrestling."

Ah...I miss ECW...

NICK
Try to get a new profile pic done, dude. You look constipated.
Also, are you face, heel, or tweener? Because if you're a heel, and you're every feuding with Dark Angel and/or Syko, make sure to make fun of the fact that they look like the kids you picked on all the time in high school. But do it casually, because the best heel promo's are the ones done without any effort being displayed.

ASH
...damn, boy, you DO look a little like Kane...

I'll try to get some of my "poses" up, but no promises. I backyard now and then with a couple buddies of mine, just something to do before going to a school (maybe SlamTech or Steve Bradley's school in Manchester). I don't have a good look, and I kinda suck, but I feel I'm good at cutting promo's and just being a pure prick. HEELS FOR LIFE! CHEAT TO WIN!

Wow!

I never realized while taking them that I looked a little like Kane but now that you mention it....I kinda do in a couple of those pics!

I was just posing for the camera....If I had another person here to snap the pic, I'd do a full body shot...maybe I will one of these days.
I actually am much more handsome than Kane!
Hehe!

Kane is one ugly bastard.
That and he's about twice my size....that guy's gotta be pushin 300 lbs or more...he'd crush me like a bug!

Nick...if given the chance would you wrestle Kane?
Would you be scared?
I'd do it just to be able to tell my friends that I wrestled him.  Yes, I would be very nervous...
I'd let him toss me around a bit and then if I could still get up I'd go for the chair!

Hey Nick....maybe one of these weekends when I don't have to work maybe we could arrange for me to drive up and you can teach me some wrestling moves.

I may have the look and have watched alot of wrestling but I have never stepped into the ring in my life.
I'd definitely have to be shown how it's done.

Getting the s**t kicked out of me by Kain would be the greatest experince of my life.I can just imagine my self being choke slamed from about 9 feet in the air by him.Damn that would be great.
I would love to show you some stuff Ash, but I don't have much time my self to do much training, and it would take more than a weekend to show you moves. There is lots you have to learn even before I could show you a normal suplex.
Im sure there are a few wrestling feds in your area that could train you.Keep your eyes open for flyers and search on the internet, you will find something.

The first time I saw that pict I thought the same thing, infact all the other wrestlers thought it too.I don't mind it though, I find it really funny actually. It fits my gimmick pretty well. Also I'm heel and may actually be forming a tag team with Dark Angel or Syko.

Clearly you didn't see much ECW back in its hey day because they did that all the time.

Your right Foy, and infact most of the big wrestling feds that wrestle in large arenas do that because its diffucult to hear the sounds of people hitting the mat with 1000's of screaming people.
My federations don't do that because we are usually wrestling in small halls found at bars and bowling alleys, and we get any were from 20 to 60 people in them.

I've been to live show of ECW and have seen Shane Douglas, The Sandman, Lance Storm, Blue Meanie, The Dudleys, Sabu, Rob Van Dam, Jack Victory, Tanaka, Kronos, Tommy Dreamer, Tommy Rich and the FBI, etc.

ECW was the greatest Pro Wrestling show ever (even if I don't agree with the high risk stuff). Again if you seen last Mondays nights match you will know what I mean. The microphone/sound was stronger than usual. I use to love the old studio shows with the very small crowd and the rings itself had better sound not to mention microphones. One year the NWA tried to invade the Northeast and brought this ring into the Philadelphia Civic Center and the frame was so firm yet the mat was so cushioned that you couldn't hear ANYTHING. I don't know what they were thinking. Again I haven't seen a show that has been able to duplicate the old GEORGIA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING SHOW or any of those Souteastern regional shows like Florida and Tennessee. The UWF and Mid-Atlantic was also good. Even the two promotions from Texas and the early days of WWWF.
