What bad movies were made into even worse tv shows?
My Big Fat Greek Life
Mortal Kombat the Series; Live Action
Friday the 13th the Series (Hot chick with the red hair was nice....)
Nightmare on Elm Street the Series (wanted to be cool, it was just bad....)
That;s all that comes to mind off the top of my head without checking DVD box sets on Amazon.com
There was a Nightmare on Elm Street series on tv? Was this with Freddy or was it something totally different like the Friday the 13th series.
btw MY BIG FAT GREEK LIFE is horrible! I liked the movie though :) I also love the first Mortal Kombat movie, but barely watched a few minutes of the tv series. It seemed to be only on at 12 midnight on TNT, I believe.
Freddy was in it ... check out this listing at imdb.com

The pilot was about Freddy and the events leading up to his "death", but the other ones played off like Tales From The Crypt episodes with Freddy narrating.
The only one besides the pilot that comes to mind was a kid who wanted to go to college but kept having nightmares about his mom and dad forcing him to work in their company, the "Beefy Boy" burger company or something like that. He dreamed he was chomping into a huge hamburger while mom and dad sang the God-awful company jingle over and over again:
"Chew me, Eat me, You can't beat me!"
Awful stuff. You're better off having missed it....
Most of the Freddy's Nightmares were pretty bad. Also, the first several episodes had this annoying habit of completely changing the story at the halfway point. Like a guy could be having nightmares about something and then at the halfway point it switches to being about his best friend.
As for movies into TV shows, I don't consider them bad, but the following films spawned pretty bad TV shows;
Animal House > Delta House
Fast Times at Ridgemont High > Fast Times
Blue Thunder > Blue Thunder
Westworld > Beyond Westworld
Private Benjamin -> Private Benjamin
The movie was 'ok,' but, well the tv show was, uh, not so good.
While MASH is one of my favorite movies, I abhor the TV show and am dumbfounded it ran so long. They took all of the movie's teeth out and replaced them with Alan Alda doing Groucho Marx impersonations, Jamie Farr in a dress, and Mako as the only TV show regular in history to play a different character in every episode.
I have to agree, My Big Fat Greek Life was pretty bad- it's like they all suddenly forgot to act or were possessed by Aliens from the planet EdWood....
I always thought THE GREEN MILE ripped off one of the episodes of Friday the 13th. A guy finds a glove which allows him to heal people, but for each person he heals he has to touch another person and cause them to die.

Pretty much every episode of Friday the 13th were like this. The Chinese kid who gets incredible luck at the expense of someone else dying. The radio that could make you travel back in time by using the blood of a recently deceased victim. And so on and so on....
The formula never really strayed far from Some-cursed-object-that-does-something-really-cool-but-someone-else-has-to-die-to-make-it-work.

Yeah, the big draw to that show was the chick....
Some of the stories were pretty cool. I remember the one with the watch that had thirteen hours on it. Time would stop while the owner of the watch got an extra hour.
What was Friday the 13th series about? And who was the hot red head chick?

The owner of an antique shop made a deal with the devil to sell cursed antiques, but he broke the pact and the devil killed him. His niece and nephew, who haven't seen each other in years, inherit the store and decide to sell everything and split the money. It's not until after their big sale that they learn the truth. Together with an older man who had dealings with their uncle and knows about the occult, they have to try and get all the antiques back and lock then in the vault in the basement. Each week was about a different antique with a different power. The only thing they had in common was that each item would give its owner something in return for them killing someone.
They travelled back in time at least 3 times, faced vampires, wax figures brought to life, psychos, demons etc.
The hot red head chick was Lousie Robey, AKA Robey (http://imdb.com/name/nm0732090/)

FUTUREWORLD. The movie was fair (not nearly as good as WESTWORLD), but the TV series (which was canceled very quickly) was terrible.
It has to be Sheena. The movie with Tanya Roberts was a total corn fest but fun, the series with Geena Lee Nolin is unwatchable.
"Beastmaster," now that I think about it, is alot like Easton's take on "Sheena." The original movie was alot of fun, but, the television series based on it, is basically unwatchable (IMHO)
As for "Friday the 13th," I'll stick up for that one. I think I watched every episode, starting with the first one. And I was sorry to see it go after only three seasons. Supposedly, because some group that monitors television violence found it too violent.
Time Cop - The movie had problems, but was watchable. The TV series, utter crap
ferris buller's day off
the movie: excelent
the t.v. show: ugh

On the plus side it did have Amy Dolenz and a young Jennifer Anniston.
Time cop the Tv series I liked it was a little way better than the movie. Friday the 13th the series was a great show even better than some of the movies. Robey what a hottie but the show went down with some of the stories like the one about Ryan's father and the one with killing off Ryan by turning him back to a little boy that was very stupid.
