Title: S.F.W.
Post by: ulthar on January 25, 2004, 09:59:01 PM
Caught SFW on tv the other night, and aside from all the 'bleep'-ing and very poor voice-over dubbing, it was a pretty interesting flick.

I think my favorite part was the how all the news people were played by the same actor (characters of Larry King, Phil Donohue, Sam Donaldson I think, etc).  To me, it was kind of like saying all the media types are of one mold, you really could switch one for another and who would care?

The music was cool, too, of course.

While watching it, I was reminded a bit of "Pump Up The Volume" and that movie with Nicole Kidman (am drawing a blank on the title right now) where she wanted to be famous so bad it was hurting her.

I'll have to try to find the disk and watch the unedited version sometime.

I agree, ulthar, this was a pretty good sleeper.  Since I tend to despise the media - especially the television media - I feel I am in the film's target audience.  I don't think it would be as good dubbed - definitely rent it the next time you feel like watching it.

Yep, that's it.  Sorry I drew a blank.
