I was watching Battle Royale last night and remember that red haired guy, I think his name was Tariyama and he was really creepy. I mean he was so cruel and tough and the guy never spoke a word yet his character seemed well defined and mysterious. I'd say he's my favorite Psychotic character. Who's your favorite?
-CRAPTASTIC!!!-
Norman Bates, hands down.
I think if Xenia Onatop from Goldeneye had been the subject of a psycho killer movie instead of a Bond movie villain, she'd be my favorite. Famke Janssen was pretty great in those scenes where the bloodlust was supposed to boil over.
For some reason Jack Palance as Frank in "Alone in the Dark" has always stuck with me...this was probably my first non Jason/Michael Meyers slasher flick.
I'll never forget the little handrake to the throat --- swipe!
I liked this movie because it did not involve super powers; the character was paranoid so his motive for killing was real in his mind (he was hunting someone he thought was out to get him)...it just seemed different than just some guy going around killing people for 'who knows why.'
And John Doe from "Seven" ... Creepy dude.
The woman from AUDITION
I'll agree with Dave that Kiriyama was a serious badass in BR but my vote will have to go to Kakihara from Ichi The Killer.
The dude has a certain psychotic cool around him throughout the run of Ichi. He's a badass and anyone who has to have ear rings on their face to keep their slashed face together is completely awesome.
Lookup some pictures from the film if you want to know what I mean about the face.
a girl down a well who comes out of your television seems scary enough to me ha ha. and im talking bout the japenese version not that hollywood re-make.
im from england and hollywood sickens me as im sure it does you. that was most likely the best case of classic film butchering ive ever seen!.
"To the workshed..............Groovy"
Retger Hauer in "The Hitcher"
So many! But one of my faves was Caleb/ Lester, the altaego killer from the Grindhouse classic "The Love Butcher"! You have to see and HEAR this guy before you die...Search it out now!
Gage from Pet Cemetary - that little kid freaked me out!
Joe Spinell's character in Maniac, such a ladies man.
"all them pretty girls, with their lipsticks, and their dresses...wAHHHHHHH!"

I agree. I liked that in the end, he didn't kill the guy when his paranoia was exposed to him.
There are so many to pick from it's true.
Rutger Hauer in The Hitcher
Brad Dourif in Death Machine
Guitar Wolf (you can't tell me his actions are by any standards normal) in Wild Zero
I don't know exactly why, but Moody from The Beatniks is pretty cool
Brother R
Norman Bates, truly an American psycho, is one of the best; also on the list could be Michael Rooker in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.
Hands down, IMO, is still Tom Noonan's turn as Francis Dolarhyde in Manhunter. Chilling, by turns touching, ultimately a monster.
"Michael Rooker in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer."
Awesome mention. I can't believe I forgot about this one. The 1st time I saw this movie in high school I walked out of the room during the "family" scene.
I'll go with onionhead's choice of the nutjob in Manhunter...creepy bastard.
And now the downside...Ever since I read this post..days ago...I can't stop singing the song Psycho Killer, by the Talking Heads. And, I don't even know all the words, just the hook. Do you have any idea how disconcerting it must be for a member of the tax-paying public, when the police officer who has just stopped them for a minor traffic violation keeps repeating.....Psycho Killer Qu'est-ce que c'est .... fa fa far far better...run run run awayyyy....over and over again? Gotta be just a bit off-putting. Thanks Dave, first "Craptastic" now this....are you trying to get me fired?
