Barberella was an epiphany for me. It was movie as atmosphere. as background. So I guess I'll always love these space funk adventures. Space Thing was David F Friedman's least favorite movie. HIs favorite was She-Freak. My LEAST favorite movie ever is She-Freak so I liked this one just fine. I'd put it just below Flesh Gordon, above Zeta One, obviously no where near Nude on the Moon. Space Things ace-in the whole is the costumes, which are fonky fonky. All the nudity helps alot too. I'd like to see one in Space that has roller skating.
I havn't caught any of the films you mentioned, Raffles, but I bet "Space Thing Vs She-Freak" would probably ROCK!
SHE-Freak was sort of great in a way. It has the worst music, horrible pacing (they have 5 minute shots of people setting up circus tents) really ugly people. It would take 25 years till Richard Grieco's "Tomcat: Dangerous Desires" that it's stupididty would even be approached. So yeah, I'd see it again.
" . . .roller skating in Space" . . .
You mean Chris Elliot's "Zoo Animals on Roller Skates" WASN'T set in Outer Space? Cripes . . .'guess that jalapeno homebrew was better than I thought . . .
