I've always wondered how many people post on this site. Any idea Ash?
The reason as to why I'm asking is because we've had alot of trolls come outta the word work. Probably some of 42nd's gay pals. ; )
People come and go. Sometimes they return, bigger than life and twice as mean. other times they are never heard from again.
Sad, really.
I would say that there are twenty, maybe thirty reoccuring posters on the board. That might be a bit conservative, but I think it's in the ball park.
That sounds about right Cullen.
20 or 30 is probably accurate.
I have been posting here for over 3 years now and I've seen so many people come and go.
I can however name who has been on here as long or longer than I have though.

I was a infrequent poster for awhile, but got more and more into the website. I am also 100 percent heterosexual. :o)

Whew! That's a relief... This world is crazy...
I've been on for a few years under various names, eitehr my real name (Jay O'Connor) or various versions of "Fearless Freep"
Here!
I imagine that until the next hot button political type issue comes up, the lurkers will go back to lurking.
It's funny, in a way. 42nd St. mentioned numerous times 'why are we discussing this on a movie site,' but I cannot recall ever seeing a post with that screen name on any of the movie threads.
I lurked here on and off for a couple of years until I started posting fairly recently. Mostly, I just read Andrew's reviews (been looking at this site since about 2000 or so) but not the bbs so much(just once in a while).

I would say there are probably 20-30 active posters, but I would just guess that there are probably just as many who visit the board several times a week and rarely post (like me).
It is always kind of fun to watch a new person come to the board and start posting like crazy. Most of them die out and eventually don't post anymore. Except for ASHTHECAT. I have to give you credit, you started posting a lot when you first came on and have never stopped! I think that is great because 99% of your threads are Pretty good and they always get responses.
I will read any topic that seems interesting, but I pretty much always read the posts from people who I remember being on the board a long time. And of course I read anything Andrew posts.
I go on posting spurts for about a month or two once or twice a year.
Been here off and on for just about 5 years.
-All the way back to when Andrew wasn't overworked and still posted Random Thoughts weekly.
Curse you Andrew.
I'm a resident true lover of bad films. I even like Albery Pyun films

ONLY pretty good!!??
Hehe!
The last time I posted was the last time they added a review and since this month they added the tank girl review I guess I best post. They inspired me to actually update my sight as well.

My theory is that we're all different personalities of the same, poor, schizophrenic bad movie fan with a cable modem. It's sort of scary, when you start to think about it. But then, so are spiders.

I have to agree. About the spiders, I mean.

No, you're all part of my dream...
If you're planning on waking up, please do it AFTER my tax return comes in. I'd hate to think I spent an hour and a half e-filing it for nothing.

Only 99%? :)
I notice my threads don't have much life because I only start threads about B-Movies I've seen recently and people only reply if they've seen the movie and want to comment abuot something special or have some other information related to the moviie at hand, which is a pretty narrow scope. I just hope people are reading them :)

I feel your pain, Freep. I, too, have started posts on subjects I think are intersting, only to watch as they slowly but surely into oblivion.
Makes a man kinda sad.
I tend to reply to posts if at least one of four conditions are met.
* It's a movie I've seen and feel comfortable talking about
* It's a rumor about a movie I am/might be interested in
*someone wants a movie named
* I think I can be witty/insightful/useful on the subject.
Sometimes I see that someone else has made my point and keep quiet.
Sometimes I have sense and keep my opinions to me self.
You know how it is.
These days almost all my topics are OT - surprised the Cabin Fever one got any responses!
BTW - on that tax return, could we file each of the personalities as a separate dependent?
Pretty much a ditto for me.
Other than a flamewar warning thread I started I think my record is two responses.
I guess no one else has seen Spiderbabe.
I haven't seen it, but I did hear it was quite good.
WOW
It's been a few months since I last been here. Nice to see some familiar names.
I only hope my wife isn't far behind in a return. 4 kids do take up a lot of time.
I guess I am like Bmeansgood - I lurk a couple of times a week, post rarely.
I keep coming back because there is always something worth reading.
Bueller, Bueller...
Hehe...I post often, at least whenever I go online [sometimes everyday sometimes not for a while], usually they consist of lengthy ramblings that don't make much sense. Haven't created a topic in a while, but then again, I haven't seen half the bad movies you folks have [though I'm getting there, just saw a funny as hell movie about a leprechaun called 'Getting Lucky' and when I get the time I'll do a review]
If you want replies, and don't mind losing credibility, just post a 'what's your favourite [insert genre] movie' or something to that effect. Whilst alot of people will whine about why these posts keep coming up, and how annoying they are, here you are sitting high and mighty in the knowledge that you created something that actually got replies. Kinda like a kid who got popular because he has a pool or something: no one really cares about you, but you can say you've got heaps of friends.
:-P

Personally, I don't care if this sort of topic pops up again and again. The Board gets new voices, after all, and sometimes the responses can be quite interesting.
